So there are some pros and cons with this tour. Pros are that you will avoid the rampant scams at this location and you will always go right to the front of some VERY long lines. If you want to visit Lady Liberty up close and personal AND see Ellis Island with a knowledgeable tour guide on a tight schedule, this is the tour for you. But there’s a con here: You are NOT going to have the time to see everything you want to see at each location. The Statue of Liberty offers great photo opportunities, a self guided audio tour, you can go under the Statue, and there’s a gift shop at each location. Pick two. After the 15 minute oral history that could frankly be condensed, you’ll be lucky to do two of them. There are much longer and more inclusive tours of the statue available, including a spiral staircase to the crown, but this turns it into an all day ordeal. Same deal on Ellis Island. You will have time to go upstairs, take some pictures, and go to the bathroom. I think these tours could each be lengthened by 45 minutes and they would be perfect. If you’re on a time crunch, this tour is perfect for you. If you are the type to want to see and do everything there is to do at a tourist location, you will end up being frustrated and disappointed with this one. It really just depends on what you’re looking for.

We had beautiful weather for this tour, which added to the fun! Our guide, Nina, had great stories and information about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We had plenty of time to explore the areas on our own also. We did learn that the boats, Liberty Island Cruises, is the only company that will take you to the island and drop you off for the tours. There are many scams out there where they try to get you to book on their boats that do not drop you off at the islands, so beware and use a legitimate tour company like Viator to book your tours and avoid this! This was a good one!

The boat ride to Miss Liberty and the beautiful New York City harbor that she calls home. It was my daughter's birthday wish to visit the Statue of Liberty. She was overjoyed to finally meet her.

Great guided tour! It was a little difficult to find the meeting spot, but the tour guides helped us tremendously. Tour guide taught us a lot as well!
