The boats have been specially designed and manufactured by the great Ultramar team with the collaboration of Midship Marine in New Orleans, USA, thinking about the needs of both local and tourist passengers and the special characteristics of the route it will cover.

Itinerary

Before making the reservation, you must check the available times for the specific day you want to travel in the attached image. Once the reservation is made, you must show up on the day you scheduled to travel at the official Ultramar ticket office located at the Navega federal pier in Playa del Carmen, in order to receive your boarding passes. After you receive your boarding passes, you must show up at the waiting room thirty minutes in advance.

Lost and found wallet

We lost our wallet on the ferry and it was found by the employees and returned to us. Rafael Gomez was instrumental in getting our wallet with ID'S and cash back to us. Thank you!!!

Amazing staff

The staff is simply amazing, our little one in the group was not feeling well and Gustavo, Hector and others rose to the occasion to help her feel better. Amazing and gracious help and they went out of their way to make her feel more comfortable

Smooth Experience

I was a little hesitant about arriving at the ferry because I've read reviews that there are hagglers selling tickets everywhere. But our shuttle dropped us off right in front of the ticket booth for Ultramar and the women working there were pleasant. We were in a bit of a rush since the next ferry was departing soon, so I didn't realize they automatically charged us for First Class (we weren't given an option). But it's the difference of approx $6/ticket each way. Not a big deal. The first class seating had air conditioning indoors so it ended up being nice. The storage of our luggage was simple and the ferry left promptly. The journey itself is only ~35 minutes. The employees were friendly and willing to help guests. I highly recommend studying the ferry schedule because it changes day to day based on the month and if it's an odd/even day.

They were very kind. The first class ticket was much nicer than the outside deck. Karla was very helpful when we couldn't find out seats

Very nice

It had been years since I had done the bag drag from Cancun to Playa. I really hope it’s never before doing it again! Actually Ultramar is a very nice, clean and safe way to travel over to the island. It is very organized, on time, and actually has a bar and some food onboard. We sat in the first class area and the seats were nice, service was good, and the temperature inside was amazingly cool. Why anyone in their right mind would want to go to Playa Del Carmen on purpose is a mystery to me as it has become a dump. Why someone would want to leave it and get to Cozumel makes perfect sense.
