Itinerary
Valle De La Luna
Tour 1: Valley of the Moon- we will know the place on earth that most resembles the Moon.
We will take a walk through the cornices and we will visit the old mines of San Pedro

Salar de Tara
Tour 2: Ruta de los Salares- We will cross the Andes mountain range and we will know a lot of flora and fauna of the place.
We will do an all day tour. We will include breakfast and lunch.
We will see Vicuñas, Vizcachas, Ducks and some local vegetation.
We will see the Alma project from afar.
We will admire the Lickancabur volcano.
NOTE: The page marks the place as Salar de Tara but the tour is called Salar Route. You can visit Salar de Tara with a 4x4. If it is the case, send a message to quote price.

Geyser del Tatio
Tour 3: Geyser del Tatio- The third largest geothermal field in the world.
We will do a hike in the geothermal field.
We will have breakfast in the geothermal field.
We will know the Putana ford where we will see Flamingos, Ducks.
The ford of Machuca where we will surely see Flamingos.
And finally we will visit Guatin where we will see cacti with more than 200 years old

Lagunas Baltinache
Tour 4: Baltinache- We will swim in a salty lagoon with a beautiful turquoise color.
We will go to a lagoon where we can float through the salinity.
After visiting the lagoons we will have a Snack watching the sunset in the Cordillera de la Sal.

An excellent introduction to the unique geography and history of the Valle de La Luna with the charming and informative guide, Alberto. Collected directly from our hostal, and brought on the short drive to the Valle de Luna where Alberto guided us through our walk through the extraordinary landscape explaining in a friendly and accessible way the landscape was formed through time and geological processes. Alberto took time to explain the importance of following the correct rules in respecting and preserving the environment around us. Plenty of time was given for photos and stories of the history of the valley from the mining days of the sixties through to today’s protected status and focus on sustainable tourism. A relaxing glass of piece with light snacks follows before making our way to the Piedra del Coyote to watch the beautiful sunset. Afterwards, Alberto drives us back to San Pedro, happily accommodating our request to be dropped off in the centre rather than our hostal. An excellent introductory tour to the unique environment of San Pedro!
