Overview

A journey through the Verona's flavours and Italian cusine with your local guide, either in English or Italian. We start at a delicatessen shop to sample a selection of cured hams and cheese accompanied by vegetable patès. As olives grow extensively in the area, we will stop by the local oil mill shop to try a bruschetta and to learn everything about it. Next stop, we will sample 3 iconic Italian chocolates and find out more on how they are made. Verona is famous for its red Valpolicella wines. We will have a break at the tasting room of Saibante, a winery that produce less than 15.000 bottles per year. We will not only taste, but uncover the secrets of its making. As we walk through UNESCO Verona's historic center, the guides will share stories into the city's history, traditions and culture. The final stop will be in the family shop that from 1909 produce Pandoro, Verona most famous cake. Come hungry, excited to learn new things and ready to explore the flavors of Verona.

  • Museo di Castelvecchio

    Our first stop will be in the Castelvecchio area, at a local delicatessen to sample a selection of cured hams, cheeses and vegetable patès from Sicily.

  • Piazza Bra

    After a short walk through the picturesque streets of Verona, we will stop at the oil mill Redoro shop. Lake Garda keeps the climate perfect to grow olives, so enjoy a bruschetta with this liquid gold and 2 patès.

  • Porta Borsari - World Heritage Site

    Verona is famous for its Valpolicella wines where Corte Saibante winery is located. They produce less than 10.000 bottles per year keeping a high quality. We will stop by their tasting room near the Arena where a sommelier will explain and serve 2 tastings of Valpolicella

  • Piazza delle Erbe

    We will pass by Piazza Erbe to stop at the family shop that produces and sells Pandoro, Verona most famous cake. Come hungry and ready to explore the flavors of Verona!

Very good food tour, Thank you Miriam

We really enjoyed this food tour on the 14th of October which was expertly lead by Miriam. We started with a bread & flavoured Olive oil stop, moved onto a chocolate stop, then for a local mini version milk based pizza, the famous russian hat cake next, then on to a meat, cheese and wine tasting in a local restaurant. Miriam also gave a detailed history of the city and info on all the distinctive buildings as we passed them going to our next stop. It lasted a little over two hours and was well paced. We found the food to be varied, tasty and a good amount of food for the money. We had no main lunch that day and didn't need to top up after we did this tour in the evening. We are very happy to recommend this tour.

This tour was great. My guide was very knowledgeable of the area and she was very accommodating, even though I was the only one who signed up for the night. Each place we visited had something local and new to offer.

Lorenzo was fantastic. We had a great time seeing the major sites within the old city of Genoa and getting to try some of Liguria's local cuisine. This is a great tour to schedule right as you get to Genoa so you can get a feel for the layout of the city, determine which sites you'd like to explore and, most importantly, figure out which items you'd like to get later for dinner!
