Take a Ride on the Wild Side! Sit back and relax in ‘Bessie’, our comfortable 4WD, air conditioned, 25 seat bus. Tim your tour guide will take you along the west coast of Magnetic Island to enjoy a sunset on West Point beach. Enjoy a complimentary drink and a shared platter while you watch the sun set over the Coral Sea. Additional drinks are available for purchase. IMPORTANT! This tour departs PICNIC BAY at 5.30pm. When booking your tour: 1. Please let us know which departure point you would like to be picked up from - either Nelly Bay ferry terminal at 5.15pm or Picnic Bay jetty at 5.30pm. 2. If possible please use an Australian phone number and/or include your email address so that we can get in touch with you.

Itinerary

West Point

Travel by air-conditioned 4wd bus, up the West Coast of Maggie towards West Point. Experience the lowland habitat, mangroves and salt mashes, eucalypt forests, creeks and flood plains. We travel adjacent to the National Park. Have the possibility to see koalas, possums, birds and raptors in the lowland forests. Witness a magnificent sunset at West Point, and if lucky watch the Dugongs and turtles cavorting in the shallows. Sip on champagne while enjoying sunset.

Very relaxing moment.

We spent a very nice moment with the organizer of tour and other group members (We were only 6 in total). Explanations about the Island and the wildlife on the Island were quite interesting and instructive but given with a lot of good humour and fun. Sunset was really nice and champagne was quite good. The whole experience was really enjoyable and relaxing.

5 star safari to beautiful West Point

Tim took a group of 18 of us, family and friends on this trip of a lifetime. Tim is so passionate and knowledgeable about Magnetic Island, he has a fabulous sense of humour and is an all round lovely person. Our group just loved how he pulled up when he spotted a koala and it's baby so we could all get out of the bus and take photos. Such a thrill to see our wildlife in the wild instead of a nature park. This very special part of the island is difficult to access without a 4WD and Tim navigates the roads confidently. To top of the tour, we were treated to a magical sunset, first red and then gold. We walked the beautiful beach whilst Tim set up chairs for all of us. We were treated to a 5 star grazing platter and some lovely wines, champagne and beer to wash the gourmet delights down whilst we watched the sun retreat. This trip is a MUST DO when you visit Magnetic Island...and the silhouette photos Tim took, perfected, then sent to me for our group were unforgettable. Thanks so much Tim, this tour was rated the number one experience by our group for our week long stay on Magnetic Island.

More than just a sunset!

Friendly, passionate,knowledgeable and very accommodating. Was so worth taking the tour with the commentary as we were learning the entire trip, not just a sunset view. The platter and drinks with immaculate presentation was amazing and topped off the trip. Thanks Tim.

Stunning sunset experience

We had such a great time on this tour and would highly recommend it. Tim was just so knowledgeable about the island, it's history, and ecology. The sunset was spectacular and everything it was advertised to be. Didn't expect the lovely table laid with a beautiful platter of food, comfy chairs to sit and watch the sun set, while sipping on a glass of bubbly. Do yourself a favour and go. The road isn't accessible by hire car so this is an experience you may not otherwise get!

Tim has a good sense of humour and is very knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and the island he lives on. We had a great time and spotted a mum koala with her Bub, a hawk, wallaby, bat and a frog plus we enjoyed the most spectacular sunset.
