Itinerary

Arenal Volcano

we start with 3.5 km (2 mi.) hike through trails of solidified volcanic lava and primary rainforest in El Silencio Reserve to reach the lookout, which is as close to the Arenal Volcano as you can safely reach. From there, the views of the Arenal Lagoon, the secondary rainforest, and areas devastated by ancient eruptions will be impressive.

La Fortuna Waterfall

Around 11:30 a.m. we will move on to the second point of interest. The 70m (230ft) high La Fortuna Waterfall is a breathtaking place, where you can take a refreshing swim or just photograph this magical waterfall and its splendid surrounding. Around 1:00 p.m., we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a restaurant near La Fortuna. Lunch will be served a la carte with at least 5 options to choose from.

Arenal Hanging Bridges

around 2:30 p.m., we will make our way to the Hanging Bridges to walk along a trail through the rainforest and across bridges high above the treetops, to observe plants and animals from a different perspective. The 3.1 km (2 mi.) circuit trail includes 15 impressive hanging and stationary bridges.

Andrés and Kathy did an amazing job guiding our group through the Mistico hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, the Arenal Volcano lava rock trail and the Baldi Hot Springs. They made the most out of a very wet and rainy day and provided lots of information to supplement the sightseeing. The included meals were mid but still satisfying. Though opting to do all four activities in one day was a test of physical stamina, this combo tour was definitely a great way to showcase the best of what Fortuna has to offer.

This was hands down worth every penny. We felt so happy post tour that we were able to experience basically all of the main La Fortuna attractions in one day. Hanging bridges where we got a guided tour of the animals in the wild, volcano hike with history, waterfall hike, and an evening at Baldi hot springs with dinner! Plenty of photo ops, great content, and lunch, snacks and water was provided. Vegetarian options were amazing for lunch. The restaurant was a nice vibe and really relaxing with good food. Baldi with dinner was worth the add on price, the hot springs were a great way to relax. Dinner was a buffet style in the resort. Transportation was provided to and from hotel! The guides, Rebecca, Daniela & Marco made it all a great experience. My group 100% recommends this! Get prepared to get wet (it’s a rainforest LOL). Was kind of sad we couldn’t swim in the waterfall but that was due to heavy rain and for our safety.
