Discover the Basque region that surrounds Bilbao called Biscay (Bizkaia in Basque language) during a full-day trip from San Sebastian. Fall in love with the charming 10th century hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and climb its 241 stairs to get to the top and enjoy its magnificent views. Game of Thrones' 7th season was shot here, so find yourself at Dragonstone! After recovering from the steep path from the hermitage, head to Bilbao (the financial capital of the Basque Country) and get a glimpse of the architectural and traditional beauties of this wonderful city, including Guggenheim Museum.

Wonderful!!

I had an incredible experience on this tour! Our guide, Javier, was fantastic—very friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, which added so much depth to the tour. It was the perfect way to explore areas beyond San Sebastián, with a wonderful mix of nature, city sights, and museums. Each stop offered something unique, and the whole tour felt well-rounded and thoughtfully planned. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a diverse and immersive experience!

Best Short Visit to Bilbao - History, Cuisine and Culture

The journey to Bilbao from San Sebastián was a great way to learn about the Basque regional independence, the geography and use of the land, and the history of the coastal areas. Alby was incredibly accommodating and supportive for the small group we had, which quickly became like a group of old friends. The access to a car to get us to the museum, the busy old town, and escaping from the rain was the best way to explore this exciting city. Thank you!

A fantastic day trip

The entire day was fantastic and the stop at Gaztelugatxe was filled with incredible views and extra exciting if you're a game of thrones fan. The Guggenheim also didn't disappoint. Our guide Alby was great throughout the whole trip answering questions about the area. 10/10 recommend. Note: the hike at Gaztelugatxe can be difficult if you want to go all the way to the top but you have an option to stop short if you want.

Ana was a fantastic guide. She was knowledgeable about the history and gave the group time to explore alone. I would wear better trail shoes and absolutely do this again!

Iman was great even though the weather was not

It was a great trip and experience for my wife and I. Iman was absolutely the best all day long. He has great knowledge of the region and his communication to all was very very good. I would absolutely request hi again on any tours on our next visit. The tour was just the right amount of time to visit the various stops. Even though it was a rainy rainy day all went great with Iman leading and adjusting for the weather.
