  • Bruges Beer Experience

    Use all your senses in an interactive manner at the historical centre of Bruges, and discover the most fascinating aspects of beer. Learn more about Trappist and abbey beers, the many beer types, the brewing process, women and beer, food pairing and much more in an innovative way. For the youngest visitors (5-12 years) there is a Kids’ Tour, an exciting children’s story about the Bruges bear, which can be read or heard in ten languages. In the museum you will also find an amazing bar, where you can enjoy no fewer than 16 draught beers (gluten-free beers, soft drinks and alcohol-free beer are available as well) and the museum shop. In here you will find a wide selection of beers, ranging from local classics to limited editions.

Interactive and rewarding

We don’t normally do the listening tours but really enjoyed learning about the origins of beer making and the various methods of brewing to give the variety of Belgium beers. Fully interactive, fun quizzes and a sensory experience ending in the bar for a tasting. Also a nice alternative story for the kids to follow.

A great interactive experience which shared lots of history in a friendly and inviting environment with some beer tasting at the end. Lots of great memorabilia and photographs to explore around the museum.

Really good and informative experience. Audio/Visual experience with a headset and tablet. Interactive functions with excellent informational tutorials on the history of beers,the production process and topped off with a tasting experience on the lower level. The staff are excellent and helpful.

Lovely introduction to Belgium beers

Just off the market, the museum and bar is set in a lovely building, although most of Bruges has fantastic buildings! There are a lot of stairs to go up on the course of the visit. You are given a tablet and headphones as it's self guided. Point the camera at some of exhibits and you get a video explaining the exhibit or asking questions. At the end of the tour you finish in the bar. You ticket will allow you 3 beers from the array of taps. You can buy beers too.

The selection of beers is astounding, from fruity lambics and refreshing witbiers to robust Trappist ales and local specialties unique to Bruges. Each beer came with its own story, making the tasting experience not just about flavors but also about appreciating the art of brewing. The Bruges Beer Museum added an educational twist to the journey, providing insights into brewing techniques and the cultural significance of beer in Belgium. And for a truly authentic moment, sipping a local Brugse Zot while overlooking the canals was unforgettable. Whether you're a connoisseur or a casual drinker, Bruges offers something for everyone. The warm hospitality, paired with the rich beer culture, makes it a must-visit destination
