Itinerary

Hout Bay Beach

Start with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town. Cape Town fades into the distance as you head south-west to Hout Bay, a quaint fishing village best known as the entry point to the Cape fur seal colony of Duiker Island.

Stop and peruse the local craft stores and opt for a seal cruise to board a glass-bottomed boat and cruise to Duiker Island to view the lazy Cape Fur seals as they bob about and soak up the sun.

Chapman's Peak Drive

Then meander along the sheer drops of Chapman’s Peak Drive (subject to weather) as you make your way to the Cape Point Nature Reserve.

Follow the tracks of Portuguese explorers Bartolomeu Dias who left Europe on a quest with a mission to find a passage to India around the African continent. Spend a day exploring the beautiful Cape Peninsula on this tour from Cape Town. With a professional guide by your side, you’ll have the opportunity to get a true sense of the beauty and diversity of Cape Town as you meander along some of the city’s most precious gems. The morning drive past Chapman’s Peak sets the standard for the day, so expect stunning vistas at Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, with their rich fynbos flora and the inevitable baboon spotting. Keep your eyes peeled for the Cape Mountain zebra, ostriches, eland and sugarbirds. Remember to wear comfortable shoes, as the short hike to the top is not to be missed, offering panoramic views of the peninsula and the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Having your photo taken at the famed Cape of Good Hope sign, marking the south-western most tip of Africa, is a must. Along the way, stop to drink in the coastal scenery while wandering amid the fynbos.

Next up, you can get your fix of cuteness as you walk alongside African penguins at Boulders beach and learn about these endangered creatures and the efforts being made to conserve them. Look forward to an afternoon of entertainment as the African Penguins of Boulders Beach steal your hearts in their formal black & white attire. Walk alongside these feathered creatures as they waddle their way around, lazing about in the sun or diving deep for the catch of the day.

Then, meander into the afternoon, as the Atlantic coastline hugs cloud-capped mountains at the seaside town of Muizenberg where you stop briefly to explore and ‘shark spot’ from shore. Keep your eyes on the ocean as you drive back along this beach route to reach Cape Town by early evening.

Amazing Day!

My husband and I had an amazing day! We visited seal island, Cape of Good Hope and Simon’s Town. TK, our driver, was awesome! Would recommend this to anyone!

Excellent guide!

Given that this was a private tour, we had the flexibility to spend as much time (or as little time) as we wanted at each location. The penguins at Boulders Beach and other wildlife sightings (e.g. eland and ostrich family near Cape of Good Hope) were the highlights of the tour. Of course, the views at Cape Point were absolutely spectacular; but then this is Cape Town, and spectacular views abound everywhere you look. Uriel, a native Capetonian, is a fantastic guide. It felt as though we were with a friend who was showing us around his beautiful hometown.

We booked this tour as our first full day in Cape Town and couldn't have been more satisfied. Our tour guide, Liezel, picked us up right from our Airbnb right at the scheduled time. It was me, my husband, and our 1.5 year old son. She was very patient with us throughout the day as the baby controlled a little of what we did. She pointed out interesting sites and facts as we departed Cape Town. Our first stop was the optional boat cruise to seal island. Liezel wasted no time jumping in to help with our son, playing with him and holding him while we got cash from the ATM. After the tour, we had a sit down breakfast and she ran around and played with him to allow us a few minutes to eat. If you have a young child, you know how VALUABLE that is. She even got him a toy rubber ball from a nearby machine... which he proceeded to play with the entire rest of the day. After breakfast, we continued our journey. Along the way we saw baboons along the road and she stopped to allow us to take photos and take in their cute behaviors. We made a quick stop for snacks at a cute farm house which was delightful. We continued to Cape Point. Upon arrival our son had fallen asleep, and Liezel generously offered to stay in the bus with him while we took the funicular up the point. He woke up shortly after and she ran him right up to us in the nik of time! The point was absolutely stunning and the funicular was well worth the extra ZAR. We then took a short drive down to Cape of Good Hope for the famous photo in front of the sign signifying the most SW tip of the African continent. Next stop was the penguins, and Liezel escorted us through the boardwalk. When we found a cute restaurant with a great balcony that we wanted to stop and grab a drink at, she offered to bring the bus around so we didn't have to walk back. Seeing the penguins was a highlight of the day, especially seeing our son react to them. The entire coast and drive was absolutely stunning. Liezel was a very safe driver and made sure we kept on schedule but flexible enough to not feel rushed at all. Throughout the day we had excellent conversation and learned a lot about the culture. We had an absolutely wonderful time on this day trip and can't speak enough praises for Liezel. We had an important errand to run at the end of the day, and she offered to drop one of us off so we could make it in time, and then returned me and the baby right back to our apartment. She even helped us get baby back to our door. A+++

great 1 day trip around peninsula of Cape Town

I had an absolutely great tour yesterday! Although I saw the spots we have visited already before, through the information from our lovely and fun tourguide Liezel it turned into a whole new experience. The tour is showing you all the beautiful must-see spots around peninsula and has enough stops and time to look around or grab/eat some food. I really recommend this tour. It has a really good price-performance ratio as well! All in all: Hotspots2c is your company for touring around Cape Town! Always had great tour guides and incredible experiences with them

Great first day in Cape Town

Great way to kick off our honeymoon in Cape town, we book a tour of the Cape peninsula, including the boat trip to see the seals, Boulders beach and Cape of Good Hope. Our guide, Liezel was extremely attentive and really tailored the day around us and what we were interested in most. She really made the tour a special and really enjoyable experience, including the restaurant recommended which was fantastic.
