These spectators’ enthusiasm quickly turns to disappointment when they realise that they have waited for hours only to see the very end of this unique performance, their view often blocked by the throngs of people crowding around them. Instead, follow your guide on a dynamic journey that takes in the entire Changing of the Guard from beginning to end as they expertly navigate the crowds to take you to the best – and most photographable – viewpoints.

Meeting Point: By the Duke of York Column, Waterloo Place, 9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AJ. This is the tall column with a statue on top. Arriving by tube: Take the tube to Piccadilly Circus and take exit No. 3 onto Regent Street/St James's. Walk south down Regent Street towards St James's Park (do not walk north towards Oxford Street). Waterloo Place is at the end of Regent Street. You will see the tall column with a statue on top. You can also arrive via Charing Cross Station. Walk down the Mall towards Buckingham Palace, you will see the statue on your right at the top of some steps.

  • Changing of the Guard

    Your regal tour begins at the Duke of York Column, located in St. James’, where you’ll greet your guide, don a personal headset, and receive a historical overview of the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Many tourists make the mistake of viewing the ceremony outside of Buckingham Palace. However on this tour, handpicked vantage points ensure you get the best views of the royal tradition while listening to commentary that explains each part of the performance. Marvel at the shimmering coats of the household cavalry as their riders control the horses with expert precision; capture photographs of the iconic red and black attire of the King’s foot soldiers; and, move quickly between vantage points in a small group of only 15 people.

    Your tour concludes outside of Buckingham Palace. Please note: The Changing of the Guard ceremony is subject to changes in date, time and cancellation at the discretion of British authorities. Our Changing of the Guard tour with Aaron was wonderful! He was very engaging and shared many fun facts with us. He also did a great job managing the crowds. I am SO happy I scheduled a tour to understand this tradition, rather than just watching on our own. Our teenagers also really enjoyed it!

Great experience all around! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and efficient! It was great to hear all the stories and the history behind the changing of the guards. She managed the crowd very well and we all had headphones so we could hear without her having to shout!! Highly recommend!

This tour was absolutely incredible! Our guide Katerina was friendly, engaging, knew so many fun facts and kept things moving and interesting the whole time. She took us exactly where we needed to be to get photos and videos and it was perfect. Highly recommend and if you’re lucky enough to get Katerina as your guide you will have a wonderful time!

Jeremy was amazing. He was able to move our group around several times to keep us within viewing of the various parts of the ceremony. Offered so much history as well. So glad we didn't just try to go on our own since we'd have missed so much.
