    As the financial capital of China, Shanghai attracts millions of migrants who bring their local culinary traditions and ingredients with them. As the sun sets, join UnTour Food Tours as we explore the best local and regional cuisines the city has to offer, paired with local beers, spirits (or soft drinks) in a centrally-located, authentic residential neighborhood.     Explore the neighborhood just north of the famous Nanjing Road. Known for its colonial history during the Republic of China, this area of Shanghai was home to some of the city's most famous locals and expats during the 1920s and 1930s.

    End your tour a stone's throw from historic Jing'an Temple. You can hop on the subway from there, or explore the bars in the neighborhood. Your guide will be happy to give you recommendations!

A recommended experience

Li is very personable and a fantastic storyteller. He has a lot of knowledge of the food and drinks we tried and told us the origins of many of the dishes and drinks. Definitely come hungry and ready to eat before this tour there is plenty of food to eat. I recommend this tour for anyone who wants to try and learn the various dishes around China like Hongkong and Sichuan

Fantastic tour of regional Chinese dishes and drinks

This was such a fun food tour and a great introduction to various regional cuisines. Li selected dishes from different regions in China and explained how they were cooked, the origins of the dish and other interesting bits of background. He was very good at encouraging me to try all sorts of food and drinks. I loved most of it. Though there are a few Chinese delicacies I will happily never try again. Li and his trainee Holly were great company and I can recommend this tour.

This was an amazing tour, amazing experience, amazing food, and an amazing guide, Li. Li meet us at our hotel, coordinate a car to take us to where the tour started, and shared with us some amazing food while helping us to understand food, culture, and food culture in Shanghai. This tour was on the day we arrived in Shanghai, which was the perfect way to understand a city through its food. I wish we had more time for more experiences with this company.
