Overview

Explore St. John with a longtime resident! This private tour is conducted in a four-door Jeep Wrangler, so it is limited to four guests. (We do not go off-roading; I simply use a Jeep due to the island's steep roads.) I do not combine groups, so this tour will be tailored specifically for you & your group. We will spend a considerable amount of time in the Virgin Islands National Park where we will sightsee, check out the beaches, historical sites & more. We will take a quick ride over to Coral Bay and will hopefully see some donkeys along the way. There is an opportunity to stop for cocktails at a tiki bar or the popular Windmill Bar, or even a little snack. I can also show you some secret spots where the sea turtles are commonly seen. I have a five-star rating on TripAdvisor & I promise this will be the best day of your vacation!

Itinerary

  • Virgin Islands National Park

    You will sightsee as you travel through the Virgin Islands National Park. You will see famed beaches like Trunk Bay and Maho Bay. There is an option to stop at a tiki bar too.

  • Coral Bay

    We will check out Coral Bay, the quieter side of St. John which has stunning views of the British Virgin Islands and beyond. You can choose to stop at Skinny Legs, Coral Bay's most popular restaurant, or do a little shopping.

  • Annaberg Sugar Plantation

    If you are interested in learning more about St. John's history and culture, we can stop at one of the island's centuries-old plantation sites, including Annaberg, Catherineberg or Cinnamon Bay.

  • St. John

    We will end the tour with a stop at the popular Windmill Bar & Restaurant. You can grab a soda or a cocktail, or simply take in the views from this hilltop paradise.

Great Day! Just book it!

Our tour with Jenn from Explore St. John was our best day on the island! Everything you have heard about this tour is true, just book her if you can. We took the five-hour tour and had a special request to go over to Sloop Jones art place way on the other side of the island and some snorkeling. Along the way we got sights, more info about beaches for the rest of our trip (facilities and access info was invaluable), history and an overall delightful day with Jenn. It was great to see more of the island and I don't think I would be able to drive some of the roads we took. We felt safe with Jenn and she drove the roads like a master. We started by seeing a Peacock strutting his stuff, went to Caneel where three donkeys were doing their thing, saw deer, goats and sheep – all the animals. Snorkeled at Hansen’s Bay with several turtles, one bigger one with his own Remora. They warned us there was a 6 ft. nurse shark swimming around, I was ok with not seeing him. We’ve swam with nurse and blacktip sharks before, I know they are harmless but they still freak me out a little when I run across them. Quite a bit of sea urchins on the rocks, be careful out there. Many fish, a few I needed to come back and see what they were, but swimming with the turtles, priceless. We spent a few $ at Sloops place (really, really cool art, shirts and stuff) I love local artists and again, just a great place and sweet conversation with his cohort there (Charlotte? – I am bad with names). Well worth the trip out that way. We ended our Jenn trip at the Windmill for the great views and remarkably good food (Fish tacos were excellent). It was a magical day!

Don’t miss this if you visit St John. We had an amazing jeep tour with Jenn. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared great personalized tips. Beautiful route and so much fun. Highly recommend this unforgettable experience.

Pat was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a terrific tour of St John in his jeep! Can’t recommend him enough for anyone looking for a relatively quick but comprehensive orientation tour of the island.
