From start to finish the tour of the Water Town was excellent and a great value.
Instant confirmation with a personal follow-up email assured that the tour was appropriately scheduled and fully booked. Because our hotel lobby is not on the ground floor, the company owner, Sunny even sent a special email to avoid any confusion about the pickup location.
Our guide, Jun found us at the designated location about 10-minutes before the set tour start.
The vehicle and driver were waiting just outside the door. The driver proved to be attentive to details and safety. The vehicle greatly exceeded our expectations as it was an over-the-top luxury mini-van with better passenger seats than any first-class airline!
Once we arrived at the water town, Jun gave an overview of the plan using the town map. Then she skillfully guided us through the narrow, winding alleys, over the bridges, and to the planned stops. Along the way, she pointed out fascinating details and took time to introduce the vast array of specialties offered at the shops. We visited the lovely gardens of an antique traditional home, a beautiful Buddhist temple, and sent postcards from the old fashioned mailbox at the post office. We enjoyed a peaceful cruise on a traditional wooden boat (their “gondola.”)
She picked a perfect restaurant for lunch and she helped us successfully order a delicious authentic local lunch.
Sharing a few good laughs, we had an insightful discussion about the differences of our backgrounds and cultures. We greatly enjoyed our dive into what it’s really like to live in modern day China.
Jun is knowledgeable and adept at providing a personal experience. She asked questions to understand our interests and showed us what fit.
Let’s face it, touring China can be difficult. It’s worth it to get help to make your visit more enriching.. This is a fantastic way to see another side of China and a pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai. I highly recommend visiting a Water Town with this company.
