Elounda has to offer to its visitors some of the most beautiful landscapes in Greece and is a renowned popular tourist resort with luxurious hotels for the most expensive tastes.

Spinalonga (Kalydon)

Spinalonga, the small islet near Elounda, is marked with a turbulent history of fierce battles and much human suffering. At the beginning of the 20th century on the islet, the lepers of whole Greece were quarantined until 1957.

Plaka standing right opposite of Spinalonga is highly linked with it. The atmosphere will give you the feeling that time has stopped. Enjoy a swim in its pebbly beach.

Agios Nikolaos

4. Ag. Nikolaos is the cosmopolitan capital of Lasithi having as trademark its multi photographed lagoon, which the locals name Voulismeni. It is set on the largest natural bay on Crete and is built amphitheatrically on a slope.

Kritsa picturesque village is among the oldest on Crete, built on the feet of Mt. Kastellos semicircularly built, with a marvelous view to vast olive groves and the Mirabello bay. Here old customs and traditions are kept alive, still renowned as weaving art center.

6. Kera church The rich Byzantine iconography and different styles make the church of Panagia Kera in Kritsa the most important monument in the region. 13th-14th BC cent.

Not only has he done his job, he has shown he is proud of his island Crete and is doing his best to showcase this beautiful east side of the island, the produce, the crusine and the local products. He is knowledgeable about the all aspects. Despite it is off season and lots of shops have closed, we had a very memorable day.
