Overview

Experience 'The Ultimate Marlborough Day Out', on this full day, small group tour. In the morning enjoy a scenic cruise through the Queen Charlotte Sound, aboard Beachcomber Cruises catamaran* and get to see the historic Ship Cove, where Captain Cook anchored way back in 1770. Returning to shore around 12.30pm, The Origian Marlborough Wine tours will pick you up and take you on your wine tour. At the first winery enjoy a main course lunch with a glass of wine of your choice. After lunch you will get to visit a couple more wineries with a chance to try some more of the wines produced here. This is while you are relaxing, savouring and enjoying this beautiful Marlborough region. * The boat cruise is provided by Beachcomber Cruises on their Ships Cove Cruise and is generally a large boat for 80 pax.

Pickup details

If you are in Blenheim we will transfer you to Picton for the Cruise. If you are located in Picton you will either be able to walk to the cruise office or we will arrange transport for you for the morning. On completion of the cruise we will pick you ... up in Picton for lunch and afternoon wine tour, then return you to your accommodation on completion of the tour. Blenheim pick ups from Hotels are approximately 8am and if you are in Picton you can either walk to the start point or if outside the village we arrange pick up at approximately 8.30am. Read more ▼

The catamaran cruise takes you out to Ships Cove where you have a short stop to walk ashore. Then back on the boat for a ride through the Marlborough Sounds visiting many of Bays briefly as passengers embark/disembark before returning to Picton

Nice cruise around the sound. Then a second company took us on the wine tour. Visited 3 wineries with a lunch included.

Nice beginning to our time in Picton . There are two companies that run this. One for cruise and another for the wineries. We had another booking with the winery tour. Fortunately they adjusted to take us to different wineries on each.

Marlborough Sound was amazing. Our boat showed us (the tourists) the various bays and inlets, whilst providing a community service to hikers, canoeists and locals - which gave us an insight into life in the area. Very rewarding. We were then collected from the wharf and escorted to our first winery by the Great Hamish. He is an asset to Marlborough Wine Tours and should be paid double. The whole day was definitely worth it

We took the "ultimate day out" and indeed it was. The cruise was fantastic and the wineries well chosen and selections tasty. Chocolate stop was a nice surprise. Loved the comfy van!
