Itinerary

  • The Bund

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 08:30 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to the Bund and start the wonderful Shanghai Private Tour. The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction. We will see the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles at the Bund. Such as Peace Hotel(Heping Fandian), Shanghai Customs House and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. We also can appreciate skyscrapers across the Huangpu River.

    45 minutes

  • The Bund City Sculptures

We will see the Bund City Sculptures, Monument to the People's Heroes, Huangpu Park and Waibaidu Bridge.

    20 minutes

  • Fairmont Peace Hotel

Heping Fandian, also known as the Peace Hotel. It has South Building and North Building. South Building It has a brick veneer structure, with the six storeys reaching 30 meters in height. The exterior is in a Renaissance style. The architects placed a strong accent on color and finished the building in their locally interpreted Victorian Renaissance' design. North Building It is the former Sassoon House, built in 1929. The total height is 77 meters. It featured extensive use of straight lines in the exterior, with decorative patterns at pediments and eaves. Most of the building features granite facing, with the ninth floor and the roof surfaced with terracotta. The eastern façade, facing the Huangpu River and the Bund, features a pyramidal roof with steep sides and a height of about 10 meters. Then, We will move to People’s Square and visit Shanghai Museum to learn about profound history and culture of Shanghai.

    20 minutes

  • People's Square (Renmin Guang Chang)

Shanghai People's Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and is the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a flourishing place for people to look around. Before 1949, the area of Shanghai People’s Square and the People’s Park was used as a famous horse racetrack which was built in 1861, honored as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in Far East’. Visitors still can find the ruins for the former main building standing at the northeast part of the People’s Square. We will see many scenic spots around people's square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum and the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.

    30 minutes

  • Shanghai Grand Theater (Pass By)

We will admire the facade of Shanghai Grand Theater. Shanghai Grand Theater is uniquely designed and beautifully shaped. It combines western and Chinese architectural styles perfectly. The white arched vault sets off glass curtain walls like a crystal palace.

  • Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan)

Located in the center of Shanghai in People's Square, Shanghai Museum is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. Its style and presentation surround visitors with artifacts demonstrating ancient wisdom and philosophy. The exterior design of the round dome and the square base symbolizes the ancient idea of a round heaven and a square land. The museum is divided into eleven galleries and three exhibition halls. The eleven galleries cover most of the major categories of Chinese art: Ancient Bronze, Ancient Ceramics, Paintings, Calligraphy, Ancient Sculpture, Ancient Jade, Coins, Ming and Qing Furniture, Seals, and Minority Nationalities. Then, we will walk along Yuayuan Old Street, experience the original Shanghai lifestyle and visit a classical garden.

    1 hour 30 minutes

  • Yuyuan Old Street

Shanghai Old Street, historically called Miaoqian Dajie, is an old business street that has a combination of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment and cultural exhibits. It owes its special social attractions and rich commercial background to the fact that the earliest bank, gold shop, jeweler's store, wine shop and tea house of the city were all to be found here. Visiting the old alleys of Shanghai is a great way to discover the traditional culture of this city and experience the real life of the Shanghainese. According to your preference, your guide will recommend a place to eat at Yuyuan Old Street, which could be a small local eatery or elegant cuisine restaurant.

    1 hour

  • Yu Garden (Yuyuan)

Later, you will be shown around Yu Garden which was first built in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty by Pan Yunduan as a comfort for his father, the minister Pan En, in his old age. Pan Yunduan began the project after failing one of the imperial exams, but his appointment as governor of Sichuan postponed construction for nearly twenty years until 1577.  Yu Garden is small in size, but it contains all elements that a classical Chinese garden should have. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. The garden has six areas, each with its own style. Then, we will transfer to Pudong to see Shanghai's financial district and visit the Shanghai Tower.

    1 hour

  • Shanghai Tower

The new landmark of Shanghai, the tallest building in Shanghai with a total height of 632 meters. The 118th floor of the tower has a indoor observation deck which is the world's highest indoor observation deck and called the 'Top of Shanghai Observatory'. Tourists are recommended to visit the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, and then take the express elevator to the 118th floor directly within only 55 seconds, its speed can reach 18 meters per second. Here, you have a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. You will have time to stop and admire the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River on the 119th floor. Shanghai is one of the art capitals of Asia, if not the world. Then, we will explore three representative Art Galleries: Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre, M50 Creative Park and 1933 Old Millfun.

    1 hour 30 minutes

  • Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre

This is a private museum dedicated to collecting and displaying posters. It contains over 6,000 collections of original propaganda posters from the 1940s to 1990s. It covers chairman Mao’s time and shows the political movements that were taking place during the New China era. It was founded by Mr. Yang Pei Ming who started collecting the posters as a hobby in 1995.

    50 minutes

  • M50 Creative Park

In the characteristic industrial buildings of a former textile mill you will find a significant group of contemporary art galleries, cafes and craft shops. The roster of galleries comes and goes. Some are tucked away upstairs in the buildings alongside other creative businesses so it is a good place to explore. From a quality point of view look out for ShangART who have two venues here, Chronos Art Centre, who specilise in new media; A+ and Antenna Space have also created large and good looking exhibition environments, preserving the character of the buildings.

    30 minutes

  • 1933 Old Millfun

1933 Old Millfun, or 1933 Laochangfang in Chinese, or simply 1933, was originally a slaughterhouse, built in the year 1933 at the intersection of Hongkou Port and Shajing Port, not far from the Bund. Nowadays, it has been transformed into a cluster of creative art precincts and has become the center of Shanghai’s fashion, design, shopping and entertainment. We can see Lattice Windows, Umbrella Columns, Covered Bridges, Central Atrium and Sky Theater. Back to hotel after all the activities listed in the itinerary and end of the service
