The Edinburgh Old Town and Royal Mile runs through the heart of Edinburgh’s ancient city over 900 years, connecting the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, perched high on a base of volcanic rock, with the splendorous Palace of Holyroodhouse, resting in the shadow of Arthur's Seat. The Mile is overlooked by impressive, towering tenements, between which cobbled closes and narrow stairways interlock to create a secret underground world.

The Dean Village is a tranquil green oasis on the Water of Leith, only five minutes walk from City centre of Edinburgh. In the past the village was the centre of the milling of water mills and the remnants of the industry can still be seen today. The most striking building in the Dean Village is Well Court, recently restored with support from the UNESCO World Heritage.

Great tour

Published on Oct, 2024

What a great tour that we would recommend to all. This was a small group tour led by Rishi who was easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable on Edinburgh and its history, who took time to explain and answer any question we had. The great part of this walking tour is it takes you out of Edinburgh (via buses) so you get to see all Edinburgh has to offer to tourists like us, along with a very good lunch this is a must do tour. Thanks Rishi....

The Place for History Lovers

Published on Jul, 2024

Edinburgh is the place in Scotland to visit for history. I’ve been to many places in Scotland, no other buildings compare to the architecture in Edinburgh. For those from Australia/US/Canada, used to driving long distances, Edinburgh is a great spot to base yourself as it’s a 1 - 2 hour drive or less to many landmarks. If you have a car, great, if not, plenty of day tours. Linlithgow Palace, the birth place of Mary Queen of Scots is a highlight and only 45mins from Edinburgh. We had a car so drove 2 hours to Luss and took a ferry ride on Loch Lomond, well worth the drive. Edinburgh is very busy but if you love your history and Scotland, it’s where you should stay.

Can’t recommend Rishi enough

Published on Jun, 2024

Rishi was, simply put, a fantastic guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Edinburgh, which made the tour that much more enjoyable. He answered all of our questions and shared a ton of information, taking his time to show us hidden gems and explain geography and history, really just an amazing guide. We walked around old town, took a few buses, went to a beach, a hilltop lookout, and a hidden village in the city. I wouldn’t appreciate Edinburgh half as much as I should’ve without this awesome tour. Thank you again, Rishi!
