Itinerary

Once you’ll meet with your guide, you’ll be introduced to the activity you’ll experience shortly after. After checking in your guide will inspect all your boots, if they don’t match our safety standard for ice climbing, you’ll be asked to rent climbing boots at a nearby company (without proper boots, you won’t be able to climb!). Then it’s gear up time. You’ll be shown how to wear harness, helmet and how to walk safely holding ice axes and crampons. From the parking lot there is a 20 minutes walk to the front of the glacier where you’ll be introduced to crampons, how to wear them and how to walk. Then it’s glacier time!! Following a straight single line you’ll follow your guide through the terminal area of the glacier until the plateau, where your guide will find the best climbing spot according to the group fitness and experience. Here you’ll spend most of the glacier experience, climbing on a moulin or the wall of a crevasse. Once the group is satisfied with the climbing experience your guide will walk you back to the starting point where he’ll collect all the gear and check you out, after an amazing glacier adventure.

A must do while in Iceland!

This tour was absolutely amazing! A must do while you’re in Iceland! Valerio was beyond amazing and we could not have asked for a better person to do this with! I am not an experienced hiker/climber and I was able to do everything on this tour. Valerio allowed me to stay in my comfort zone while also pushing me when I needed it. My friend who is an experienced climber/hiker also had an amazing experience. I highly recommend doing this tour despite your skill level.

I cannot say enough good things about this tour and Valerio. We had the absolute best time, a highlight of our trip to Iceland for sure! Valerio made us feel comfortable and safe. He is super knowledgeable about the glacier and we learned a lot of interesting information along the way. He adapted to our abilities and we were able to explore some incredible areas of the glacier away from the crowds. I never thought I’d be able to ice climb but Valerio gave me confidence and training to make it possible. Truly an incredible experience, cannot recommend it enough.

One of the most spectacular experiences you can have in Iceland! Valerio is professional, friendly, and incredibly patient. This tour is suitable for all skill levels—even if you’ve never climbed an ice wall before, his clear instructions and expertise will help you succeed. I highly recommend the afternoon or evening tour for a more serene glacier experience with fewer people around. Thank you!

Safe and fun walking on the ice

Valerio took care of me and my safety from the beginning. His experience made me think more about the trip rather then the danger. I enjoyed fully the walk, the panorama, drinking pure water, visiting secret caves and waterfalls. He is fun and funny. It feel you are going on a stroll with a longtime friend.
