    Meet our Tour guide at Discova Day Tour Shop before tour start. Your guide will fit your bike, give a safety briefing, and provide an overview of the tour.

  • Hoi An (Pass By)

    The tour begins by exploring the hidden passageways and winding alleyways of Hoi An, stopping to photograph the iconic Japanese bridge in the historic district. Crossing first the canal bridge near the night market we continue to the new metal bike bridge connecting Hoi An proper and its southern villages of Quang Nam Province.

    Not far from the bridge we visit a local family making Banh Beo in the traditional method. These small, savory rice flour bowls are a common breakfast staple in the countryside. We continue riding to one of Hoi An's most beautiful villages, stopping at a family home to learn about the tradition of family chapels. Our host is nearly 90 and vividly remembers his experiences in the American war.

    We pedal past rice fields and vegetable farms along small canals and waterways towards a wooden boat-building site. Fishing is still the lifeblood of the province and the construction of these ships is quite amazing to witness and photograph. If the timing is right, we'll also see families gathered to clean fishing nets between journeys at sea. The roads narrow again to concrete paths and our final stops include a traditional mat weaving shop and a family distillery where rice wine has been produced in the same manner for generations. Of course, samples are provided. It's a short ride from here to where we board a local ferry for a trip back to town. Have your cameras ready for great views of the Hoi An waterfront. Once dockside, it's a short 5-minute ride through alleyways back to the Grasshopper shop.

A great trip

One of the best tours of our holiday, it was great to visit the local villages and have brunch in a families house. We were well looked after by our guide Easy with great information on the way. Riding pace was good for all, no hills so Ok for most grade of rider.

Excellent service from this company. It was rainy in the AM, and they allowed us to move it to the PM. Van was pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating.

We had a fantastic day seeing the country-side of Hoi An on bicycle. We were able to see beautiful farms and fields with our top guide Van! She really introduces us to the people of the area. We visited a home that makes rice paper, a home that makes woven mats, a home that makes rice wine, as well as a family temple. 15 generations of family documented there! We were so happy to meet such warm and kind people at each stop. Van made it so special and meaningful. Our hearts were full of happiness after spending time with Van. She knows the area, the bikes, and the people. We felt safe and well taken care of the whole time. She even recommended a Banh Mi place that turned out perfect! She is special and a delightful person! Thank you Van for a perfect day!

Awesome bike trip

We had a great morning with our cool tour guide, Mike, biking to non-touistic places around Hoi An! The bikes are better than others we saw, like mountainbikes. We were only 3 people on the tour and got a lot of information about local families producing things like mats, rice wine, or rice paper. Definitely recommended!

The best thing we did in HoiAn

We had a half day tour with Tam. He speaks very good English and is knowledgeable about the local culture and tradition. He paid attentions to our safety and adjusted the pace for us. Hoi An old town is a nice place but very touristic. If you want to see something beyond, I definitely recommend this tour. Tam told us there is a longer tour. I wish I can join it next time !
