Overview

During this 4-5 hours unique cooking workshop, you’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun challenges to complete and learn different species of Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the following cooking class. The class will be carried out in Chilli Cool Workshop which is in the city center. You’ll be treated with Sichuan local tea as it’s local’s custom to treat friends and visitors. After that, you then will be guide to start the cooking process by a professional chef in a cozy kitchen. Finally, you can enjoy the dishes made by yourself along with some beers or beverages. For it’s really informative, interesting and fun, this class will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime.

Great experience, highly recommend! The tour guide was very knowledgeable about Chinese and Sichuan food culture. The kitchen where we cooked was very professional and well maintained.

We had such a good time at the cooking class! Started the day at a local market and talked through the ingredients and spices we would be using later, then had tea and garlic peanuts. The actual cooking was very well guided and I now have some new recipes to make at home! Overall a very good experience, would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I learned a lot about Sichuan food. Got to try making things like mapo tofu which I love but have never tried to cook myself before. The market visit was very interesting, although my inability to recognise most of the vegetables was slightly embarrassing :) The host was a lot of fun. Definitely recommend if you are in Chengdu and have any kind of interest in food!

Our family with kids did the cooking class and market tour and it was great! Lance, our guide, spoke perfect English and the chef was so organized and clean. We made so much food! We wouid have liked to spend more time cooking and less time watching but I know it's a hard balance. They were very flexible for vegetarian. Thank you!

The Chili Cool China team did an outstanding job explaining Sichuan cooking, and they patiently walked me through the steps to a home-cooked traditional Chengdu meal. The dishes were some of the best I’ve tasted in China! Highly recommend!
