Besides the main route there is the option to include more places into the sightseeing, depending on your preferences. This could be f.eg. the charismatic district La Latina, the modern Gran Via Street or the romantic Literary Quarter. The tour and sightseeing will be adjusted to your interests.     See the largest functioning royal palace and the largest by floor area in Europe. The Royal Palace of Madrid is the official residence of the Spanish royal family, although now it is working mainly as a museum. Moreover it is used for state ceremonies.

  • Catedral de Sta Maria la Real de la Almudena

    The Almudena Cathedral is the most important religious building in Madrid. It was consecrated by Pope John Paul II on 15 June 1993, making it the first cathedral to be consecrated outside of Rome. All other main Spanish cities had centuries old cathedrals, and Madrid also has old churches, but the construction of Almudena only began in 1879. The Neo-Gothic interior is uniquely modern, with chapels and statues of contemporary artists, in heterogeneous styles, from historical revivals to "pop-art" decor.

    See the Plaza Mayor, a grand arcaded square in the center of Madrid.The symmetrical rectangular square features a uniform architecture. It was once the centre of Old Madrid. It was first built (1580–1619) during the reign of Philip III. It is very popular with tourists and locals alike.

    See the street with the most quantity of tapas in Madrid. Cava Baja is a winding, cheerful street cutting straight through the city’s heart and bustling on both sides with colorful taverns and bars.

  • La Latina

    The narrow and winding streets of this irregularly laid-out area, mostly dating back to the Middle Ages, usually lead onto a square. Most of them lay outside the Medieval walled village and provided accommodation to a great many merchants who sold their goods at the market. This commercial tradition still echoes in several street and square names, such as Plaza de la Cebada (Barley Square), where the farmers’ market used to be held, Plaza de los Carros (Carriage Square), Plaza de la Paja (Straw Square), or even El Rastro (owing its name to the blood trail of the old slaughterhouse), the city’s best-known flea market.

Perfect pace, rich with info and hidden gems.

Veronika was amazing. We had a small family tour (three of us total) and she brought a deep knowledge of the city’s history, art and architecture, and hidden gems (we went back for the orange cookies!). She easily identified our interests and catered to our curiosity. She answered so many questions and has an uplifting, joyful personailty. A highlight of our trip.

Our guide Veronika gave us a look at Madrid's history far beyond what we had been able to research on our own! We learned about the political forces behind Madrid's art and architecture, and how powerful families and popular uprisings shaped the medieval and modern city. We also enjoyed churros in the historic center and a coffee at a quiet spot in La Latina, and got some inside tips on the best places to visit for a cocktail, people-watching, and other "off the beaten track" activities.

Actually the best guide i had so far. EVER! Weronika is very passionate about Madrid and knows a lot about history of the city and also as a local, she knows nice (not obvious) places if u want to grab some cerveza :) The tour wasn't a typical one, lead by a guide with a monotonous voice. It was educating, interesting and fun. I recommend Weronica wth all my heart!
