  • Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

    Our accredited guide will meet & take you to the elephant orphanage. Enjoy this guided session with experienced guides & keepers from this sanctuary which takes place between 11 am to 12 noon daily, learning the efforts made by this sanctuary in elephant conservation in Kenya. Nonetheless, get to enjoy the view of these baby elephants, & make great memories as you engage in photography. During this visit you also get to witness them having their bottle of milk as they relax & play engaging in sandbathes & a cool of mud bath in the heat of the day. You also have an opportunity to adopt & sponsor any of the orphaned baby elephants of your choice during this visit.

  • Giraffe Centre

    You will then be driven to the Giraffe centre where you will learn more about the conversation efforts to conserve an endangered species of giraffe known as the Rothschild Giraffe. The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. Their main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe.

    You will then be driven to the Kobe Beads Centre. This is a pottery company that makes one of the world most beautiful beads. You will be shown all the stages from the start to the finish. It’s also a unique factory as it employs single mother parents from the poor neighborhood who earn a living to support their families. It's a women empowerment center for the community. You then have the option of being driven to lunch and then later be dropped at the hotel/apartment or airport for your flight.

Elephants, Beads, Giraffes, oh my!

I booked this tour last minute through Viator but in hindsight would have preferred to book directly with the service company. Kelvin was super informative of the animals, very accommodating, and gave me some extra recommendations for after my tour. He was very patient with my questions and how long I wanted to take at each location. Would recommend!

This was a really special experience! The giraffe center was wonderful, and the Sheldrick Trust elephant orphanage was next level. Sam, my guy, was kind, knowledgeable, and engaging. I truly enjoyed my time spent with him and would recommend this tour to anyone.

We went on this day trip with Denish and Purity. We had a wonderful experience. They greeted us at the hotel promptly, our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. They took us to a great spot for lunch. This is a must try experience if in Nairobi!

Perfect day in Kenya with baby elephants and giraffes

Kelvin at Rustic Nature tours made our first day so special in Kenya. He is an extremely experienced guide who is passionate about the animals, people, and culture in his country. We had a spectacular day because of his wealth of knowledge, and positive spirit. We were able to get incredible pictures and experience the baby elephants and giraffes up close because he is determined to have his guests have the best day ever. When in Kenya, we highly recommend booking the Baby Elephant and Giraffe Sanctuary tour with Rustic Nature Tours!
