Schloss Heidelberg

Our journey begins with a delighted morning tour to romantic Heidelberg. Known as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, Heidelberg lies on the River Neckar and it is an everlasting favorite among international tourists. Explore of the world famous castle (partially in ruins) with its impressing Gothic and Renaissance buildings. We show you the large courtyard, the mighty terrace and one of the largest wine barrels in the world, the “Heidelberg Tun”.
Altstadt (Old Town) (Pass By)

Take a walk in the medieval town center and marvel at the Old Bridge, Karlstor, the Church of the Holy Spirit, House of the Knights with its precious Renaissance facade and small lanes with half-timbered houses. The city hosts the oldest university of Germany.
St. Jakobskirche (Pass By)

We continue our journey to the best-preserved medieval town in Germany - Rothenburg ob der Tauber high above the Tauber River Valley on the Romantic Road. We will go for a sightseeing walk through the picturesque old lanes and the castle gardens: See St. Jacobs Church with the wood carved altar by Tilman Riemenschneider.
Rothenburg Town Hall (Rathaus) (Pass By)

Marvel at half-timbered houses, city gates and the mighty Renaissance Town Hall. In your leisure time visit the fascinating Medieval Crime Museum, Doll and Toy museum, German Christmas Museum and many more.

The best thing in the trip is the tour guide he is originally from Croatia. He is kind and nice. We enjoyed the trip because of him.

Both the Medieval towns were beautiful. Walk around the towns were enjoyable. Heidelberg castle walk was nice.

This tour was an awesome experience. Tour guide was easy to find and the tour left on time! The tour guide was awesome! Loved getting trivia and items of interest during the drive. Loved that it was a small tour (8). The tours of Heidelberg and Rothenburg were awesome. Tour with great info combined with some time to explore on our own. Loved both of these locations. Time management during your free time is important. We had specific things we wanted to do in Rothenburg but that didn’t leave me with enough time to have a Bavarian beer. Maybe I should have let my wife go to the largest Christmas store on her own but that may have been an expensive mistake. Oh well. I got my beer (not Bavarian) at Heidelberg. Great experience!

Recommend Rothenburg be a separate trip there isn’t enough time to do them justice. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable.

Efficient trip to two gems of Germany

If you move fast and don’t mind fairly quick stops and a few hours in a bus to pop in some pretty fabulous places, then this tour is perfect. If you want 3+ hours to explore the castle and 3+ hours in Rothenburg, then this isn’t for you. Our tour guide, Willy, was very knowledgeable with an extremely dry, crass sense of humor (which I loved). I thought this was time well spent and got back about 7pm after starting at 9:30am. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes so you can power walk around the destinations more efficiently.
