Overview

Cam Thanh Village, known as the kingdom of coconut palms, attracts a lot of tourists not only for its beauty but also for its historical value. Join our tour, it is the perfect way to explore and get closer to the local life of the fisherman people here. You will experience a local colorful market, learn how to deal with the local sellers, and learn all ingredients for the meals. Ride a basket boat for 45mins around the forest to explore the river channels of the Cam Thanh community, and enjoy coracle boat performances by locals which are really exciting. You will be provided instruction from the local fisherman, and learn how to make souvenirs from palm leaves, enjoy boat shaking and crab-catching, and attend a lantern-making class. There will also be a cooking class course by the local host and lastly, enjoy Vietnamese foods made by yourself.

    Take you to Phu Lanh Travel. You will enjoy a welcome drink. And then go to Cam Thanh coconut palm village. Upon arrival, our guide will take a brief about the village as well as the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families, and their community before you board on coracle boat.

    After exploring the village, return to Phu Lanh Travel, take a short time to refresh, and get ready for making lantern class. The guide will take a brief introduction about the history, shape, and color of the lanterns as well as the many stages of making them. Then, you can make your own lantern and keep it as a souvenir. You will be joined in a cooking class course by the local host. They will show you some of the local specialties. Try your hand at preparing your own lunch (or dinner). Amazing experience

From collection to drop off we had a wonderful time. Thao was our amazing guide, she met us and took us round a local market where we selected ingredients for our cooking class. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic all the way through our tour. We got to make a traditional lantern with help from Thao (which we got to keep) We had a trip in a traditional banana boat before a masterclass in cooking. We made with help and instruction 4 dishes from scratch and then got to eat them! It was a truly wonderful morning and throughly recommend. Many thanks, we loved it.

This was definitely the best afternoon that my family and I had in Hoi An. Our 6 and 9 years old daughters loved the experience and we will certainly remember it forever! The tour team is very organized, follows the schedule correctly and delivers much more than we expected. Shopping at the market was incredible, making the lanterns, learning the local cuisine… Everything was always very well organized and prepared by an incredible team! The basket boat ride was also wonderful and we were guided by a man who sang beautifully! Every minute was very well spent and worth every penny! Thank you for the experience and congratulations, operator!
