    This area is also called Royal Palace, Forbidden City constructed from 1804-1833 by 2 first Kings of the Nguyen Dynasty (Gia Long & Minh Mang) and was the centre for Economy, Culture and Political Activities of Royal Family. You will spend time for your own Walking Tour in Imperial City to visit Flag Tower, 9 Holy Cannons, South Gate, Supreme Harmorny Palaces, 9 Dynastic Urns, Forbidden City.

  • Thien Mu Pagoda

    The oldest and most famous pagoda in Hue built from 1601 by the Founder of the Nguyen Family in this region (Nguyen Hoang). Pagoda was built and named so (Thien Mu Pagoda - Heavenly Lady Buddha Pagoda) after the story of local people when they dream about lady Buddha sitting on this hill.

  • Tomb of Tu Duc

    Built by King Tu Duc (1847 - 1883) for himself from 1864 - 1867. This was also place where King Tu Duc sometimes lived and worked when he was still alive. Tomb's area is about 12 Hecta including 2 seperated areas: Temple area and Burial area.

    Started by himself but finished by his son - King Thieu Tri (1940 - 1847). Tomb's area is 1 hecta with living, working area for King, Queen,.. and especially living room for his minor wives an concubines after his death.

A wonderful overview of Hue. Nhi was our guide for a half day trip to the pagoda and the Citadel. We began with a dragon boat ride to the pagoda. It was a typical January rainy day, but she did a great job keeping us dry and guiding us, answering our many questions. It was an excellent introduction to a beautiful place.

We booked a last minute tour of the Imperial City of Hue with Adventure Journey Hue. Our Tour Operator was the fabulous Ms. Trang and our English speaking driver Mr. Duc. The car is clean and modern. Everything was done professionally. The rates were very reasonable bordering cheap . They were very quick to respond to my request on Whatsapp, easy to deal with and very flexible. We only had one afternoon to see Hue and were very good thinking strategically that we should do the Emperor's tomb (Lang Tu Duc) first, then the Imperial Citadel including the Forbidden City before the 5:00 PM deadline and finally the Tien Mu Pagoda (Celestial Lady Pagoda) by the Perfumed River last They were very flexible and picked us up from the airport and dropped us back at the airport. Our VietJet flight was delayed by 2.5 hours and they rearranged their schedule to accommodate the delays AND still make us see everything on the original schedule. We couldn't do that if we were on any other tours because the company would not be able to wait that long for 2 people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 5 Stars.
