Joanna gave us an excellent tour of this very interesting site, making the lives of the Roman residents come to life. The mosaics in the homes at this site are amazing, and the remaining wall foundations make the housing area easy to visualize. The amphitheater is what remains of the 3rd largest Roman one. We actually enjoyed visiting it more than the one in Rome because there were no crowds. My husband uses a hiking pole for stability on uneven surfaces, but he was able to manage this site & Joanna was very understanding of his needs & helpful. We took a taxi from our hotel in the Barrio Santa Cruz neighborhood, then caught one back that was dropping off people as it was a busy Sunday afternoon for the taxi apps. There was a little cafe across the street from the entrance where we warmed up & had coffees before our tour began.
