Overview

The 5 hour Kauai Sightseeing tour is a perfect mix of beautiful natural sites, history & local foods. We call it short and sweet. We designed this tour for those of you who don't have all day to spend on a tour yet still want to take the day off from driving to experience Kauai's East side in depth. You will visit 2 waterfalls, a beautiful beach park, and 3 archeological sites. We will enjoy lunch in Kapaa town, where we will give you many options and you can choose whichever one you desire. We are a small family owned business. Our guides are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the culture and history of our island. Our tours are small, never to exceed 13, and our vehicles are clean, spacious and air conditioned. Also available as a private tour through Viator. Pickup details

Make sure to contact us to let us know where you are staying on island, if you are coming from the cruise ship or arriving at the airport. If you have a car you will meet us at Kauai Bakery. If you don't have a car please let us know ... so we can let you know where your pick up will be. We do pick up near the harbor (walking distance) and at some hotels in Kapaa and Lihue. We will be sending you a friendly text the day before the tour to touch basis and provide any additional tour details you may need. Read more ▼

The bakery is located at the Kukui Grove Shopping Mall. Park anywhere near the bakery, located on the back side of the mall facing the Costco warehouse. We will meet in front of the bakery. If you have a car we will meet you at the bakery.

Itinerary

Kukui Grove

We will meet all our travelers by the Kauai Bakery. It is time to set the mood right for the day with an introduction to the legendary Portuguese doughnuts known as malasadas. Get ready for a delicious sweet treat. Coffee and other savory treats are also available for purchase. Please arrive at 8:00am so you have time to enjoy some coffee and pastries before the start of the tour.

Menehune Fish Pond

This is no ordinary pond, it is a jurassic size pond built in ancient times by the first inhabitants of Hawaii, the people from the Marquesas Islands. Marvel at the beautiful surroundings as we drive you through the Kipu Kai area. Learn about the fascinating legend of the Menehunes, the archeological and cultural importance of the pond. Many Hollywood movies have been filmed in this area. We will stop in two areas to take many pictures.

Wailua Falls

Last but not least is time to visit one more waterfall, because you can't never have enough waterfalls. Iconic Wailua Falls was featured on the opening scene of the Fantasy Island Tv show. You will have plenty of time for pictures. The perfect closure for a tour.

Lydgate Beach Park

Time to take a stroll down the path by the beautiful Lydgate Beach Park, where you can soak your feet in the famous Morgan Ponds, learn about the ancient temple of worship were Hawaiians greeted the rising sun daily, the city of refuge, and more. This is a leisure walk for all age groups. you will have many picture opportunities.

Opaekaa Falls

At this stop you will walk to visit two sites, Opaekaa Falls and the Wailua River lookout, located in Wailua town where the Hawaiian royalty lived in ancient times. Beautiful views and many picture ops await for you here.

Poli'ahu Heiau

Heiaus are ancient Hawaiian temples of worship. Set high atop the mountains, Poliahu offers magnificent views of the ocean and the Wailua River. Your guide will share fascinating stories about Hawaiian history and culture, and maybe feed the feral chickens while we are at it.

Kapaa

Lunch location will be announced on the day of the tour. It will depend on the weather. If it's sunny we will take you to downtown Kapaa where you will have many food choices from food trucks to local markets and restaurants. If it's rainy we will eat at Lava Lava Beach Club. Either way, we are sure you will love it!

Excellent small group tour. Coco provides personal service and a fun and informative experience. The local legends stories were a unique aspect to the tour. I highly recommend you take this tour.

What a beautiful landscape. We had to choose a shorter excursion because of our cruise departing early. This was the best choice, BUT, what made all the difference making the day from good to excellent was our guide COCO from Kaui Soul Travel

Entertaining & Fun

We were delighted to hear all the stories and lore from our guide. It was fun to just watch and let someone else do the driving, parking etc. The fish pond and stories about the mountains were great. Our guide was fun and very entertaining. Don’t hesitate to join this tour, 1 suggestion is to do it early in your stay, it will open up more choices for your trip. Mahalo

Short, sweet & spectacular

Coco is the best tour guide & this was the best tour! We got to see so much of the island in a short amount of time. The landscape, waterfalls and beaches were beautiful. Coco is very knowledgeable of the island and a professional guide. She explained each location along with its’ history. She did an impressive job of catering the tour to our groups’ specific interests. I went with my family and there were two other families on the tour. We felt like old friends shortly into the tour because of how welcoming & comfortable Coco makes you feel. Delicious food, breathtaking views and new friends! Couldn’t ask for more. (Extra bonus her van is immaculate)

Coco is as amazing- funny, personable and knowledgeable. She made everyone feel welcome and happy to attend. The time of year made the waterfalls more like water trickles but we didn’t regret the trip as we learned about Kauai and enjoyed the Easter so much. This is a hearty yes. Everyone in the family from grandparents to grandchildren left happy.
