Overview

The first stop is LAGOMAR, the former home of the famous actor Omar Shariff where you will visit the cave museum and the lake. We then head to Guatiza where we will visit the Cactus Garden which is a magnificent example of an architectural intervention perfectly integrated into the landscape. CĂ©sar Manrique realises this bold architectural complex while maintaining the unbreakable pairing of art and nature that is so tangible in all his spatial interventions, where we can see more than 7,200 varieties of cactus. The second part of this tour begins in Ă“rzola as you board the Biosfera Express ferry that will take you to the neighbouring island of La Graciosa. Once you arrive you will have the opportunity to do various activities on your own, stroll through the quiet village of Caleta del Sebo to admire the unpaved streets, visit the typical street market, rent bicycles, enjoy the paradisiacal beaches, etc...

It was a very nice and relaxing day in Lanzarote, we saw two interesting places on main island and had a trip also to calm La Graciosa.

A full on day, picked up from resort then up to Lagomar - Omar Sharif briefly lived there, a stunning artist designed house inspired by CĂ©sar Manrique. Then onto the Cactus Gardens for a visit - who knew there were so many Cacti. Then onto Orzola for the ferry to La Graciosa where we had a wander, a paella lunch with wine and then time for the beach and to explore further. We loved it and would like to return to La Graciosa. A multinational tour and our guide for the day, Rachel, was excellent although translation three ways slowed things down. Finally returned to resort. Great value.

Guatiza Cactus Garden

I did not do the tour - I visited the Guatiza Cactus Garden independently & am writing this review on the basis of my experience. Really glad I got to see this. Very unusual to come across a garden that has basically been made from an old quarry. So many interesting cacti plants & the design of the garden was so cool - been built like an arena so you walk up & around different levels. There is a cafe & toilets (rather amusing toilet signs) & a lovely windmill you can walk into (take care with the steep steps). In my opinion the 10€ entry fee was worth the visit.

Our guide Rachel was very knowledgeable and made our trip a lot of fun. Omar Shariff’s house built in an old quary is exemplary of where nature meets architecture. The cactus garden housing 1400 species of cactus was very beautiful. Los Graciosa is a pristine fishing village with golden beach. The food served was paella which was delicious.I will surely recommend this tour to my friends coming to Lanzarote for a vacation.
