Overview

Experience the awe-inspiring Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, known as one of the new seven wonders of the modern world, on a full-day tour via the Vistadome Train. Situated on a mountain ridge above the Sacred Valley, this well-preserved relic of Inca civilization is South America’s most popular attraction, receiving an estimated 5,000 visitors daily. The Vistadome Train, a panoramic train class provided by Perurail, offers a comfortable and stylish way to witness the wonder of Machu Picchu while passing through remote villages and historic sites, providing stunning views of the Andean landscape. Note: Machu Picchu tickets are subject to availability. We offer 3 Machu Picchu circuits: Circuit 1: Panoramic views, no temple visits. Circuit 2: Full tour with postcard photo and temple visits. Reserve 2 months in advance. Circuit 3: Lower entrance, no access to the photo platform, but includes temple visits.

Itinerary

    Your adventure to Machu Picchu begins with a meeting point pick-up between 4:30 am and 4:45 am, setting off for a train journey filled with stunning vistas.

  • Aguas Calientes

    En route, you'll be captivated by the Inca landscape featuring snow-capped peaks, lush sub-tropical jungles, and ancient Inca agricultural terraces. The train brings you to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, where your guide will be waiting to escort you on a 25-minute bus ride to the Machu Picchu citadel.

  • Machu Picchu

    Upon arrival, you'll embark on a 3-hour guided tour of the site. Your guide will enlighten you on Inca history and culture, highlighting the citadel's key areas. Post-tour, you'll have leisure time to wander and discover Machu Picchu at your own pace. Back in Aguas Calientes, you have the option to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Ollantaytambo (Pass By)

    Your return journey commences with a train ride back to Ollantaytambo, departing either at 16:22 pm. or 6:10pm From there, depending on the availability, bus will ensure your smooth transfer back to meeting point, concluding your memorable excursion.

Great service from the start to end! Peru Hikers impressed me with their consistent speedy responses to my inquiries. I’ve contacted multiple tour agencies for my South America trip and Peru Hikers is definitely the fastest amongst all I contacted in replying. We liked that Peru Hikers helped arrange transportation to pick us up and drop us off at our hotel in the Sacred Valley at a reasonable cost. We also appreciate the great seats selected for us on the Vistadome train. Our guide, Isao is super knowledgeable and passionate about Machu Picchu. We learnt a lot on this tour and were very happy with the great photos Isao took for us. Isao also made sure that our driver picked us up from Ollantaytambo train station. Our driver showed up on time for both the pick up and the drop off, and got us to our destinations timely and safely. Huge thank you for everyone at Peru Hikers who helped organize this amazing tour for us!

Peru Hikers and our guide Isao were the absolute best. We did the Machu Picchu day trip and full day Rainbow Mountain trips from Cusco on back to back days. The attention to detail in all the travel plans and the organization was top tier. On the tour Isao was extremely knowledgeable of all the details, moved at our pace, and more than anything a blast to hang out with. Also, added bonus — Isao was an amazing photographer! I can’t recommend Peru Hikers enough will be coming back to do more with them in the future.
