The reason why me and my friends loved this Mae Kham Pong Village tour was because of our excellent tour guide, Bua. Bua is an excellent communicator, intelligent, knowledgeable, and a warm person to be around. She is a quality professional in her field. I say this especially because our group has interacted with other tour guides for other tours and the level of quality was incomparable to Bua. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.
The only point of improvement was the Thai cooking class activity. We did not really get to cook; we just helped with momentary stirring, cracking an egg and that was primarily it. The base of the broth and cut veggies were already prepared beforehand. However, it was really nice to not have to cook after our long day. I would suggest reframing how it's advertised online because it's not really a cooking course.
The tips I would offer for this tour are:
1. Make sure to wear comfortable attire (e.g. sunhat, socks, etc) and shoes for walking through a forest.
2. Wear insect repellent
3. There's an herbalist guide on the tour too so if you're planning on tipping, as we were, then make sure to bring enough baht for both tour guides.
