This experience is once in a life time. The sunrise is so worth the hike. Be prepared with water and good hiking shoes as well as many layers. The temperature was 24 Fahrenheit which is very cold and you need to bring gloves, hat, and many layers. The hike is strenuous and all uphill as well as the altitude being harsh. If you enjoy a challenge then this tour is for you. The Bedouin that helped my friend and I named Mohamed was amazing, he was so caring. My friend got altitude sickness but he stayed back with her and made sure she made it to the top. The tea house stops help as well, make sure you bring cash! The tour overall was well operated and very good!

A tour was great, the view from the top of the mountain was incredible, guide in the bus was awesome, made sure everything went well. Bedouins, who led the way to the top of the mountain, were great, always kept group together and made sure that nobody was left behind.

Great experience seeing the sun rise at the summit. If you're planning to do this, keep in mind it is a mountain, and although the trail is straightforward, you'll have to ascend 2000ft at night sp careful consideration of footwear and clothing. Whilst you're walking, you'll be warm but as soon as you stop for a while (especially at the top) it will be cold so take warm clothing. You can hire blankets for 150 Egyptian pounds at the top. Our tour guides were friendly, helpful and experienced. Highly recommended!

Its hard work but the sunrise is worth it. We left hotel at 9pm and got back at 2pm the following day. Limited sleep, long coach journey and a 3-4 hour trek up the mountain in the pitch black / torchlight is not for the faint hearted. Its also very cold so dress up warm and consider paying the E£150 for a much needed blanket at the top. The wind is biting However the views of the sunrise and the walk back down in the daylight are spectacular. Monastery tour is a bit something of nothing. I'm not religious so maybe its just a bit lost on me and I was very tired by this point. Interesting enough to see but the highlight is the sunrise. Blink and you miss it as its over pretty quick so get up there in time and get a good spot for photos and travel prepared, drinks, snacks, warm clothes, good shoes.
