There are some really odd reviews here, and I wasn’t sure if this was going to be good or not great. I loved it, I thought that the audio guide MAKES this museum. Take your time with it and listen to all of it. Sure, the rooms are empty of furniture but I’d rather that and use my imagination than have a faux Mozart experience, just to be in that place where Figaro was written and to think and spend time with that genius was enough for me. I also liked seeing his front door and the view out of his window as well.
The tour IS well structured, giving a good setting of Vienna, the music scene, the political landscape and eras I said earlier if you read the info and listen to the audio tour (which is included) then it really gives back the time invested. I can see that opinions are mixed but for me it was a really fun, and sometimes moving experience. I especially liked their instillation on The Marriage of Figaro, a unique idea that I watched all the way through. Loved it.
