This one-day tour takes you from the bustling streets of Kumamoto City to the majestic heights of Mount Aso, the serene Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, and the breathtaking Takachiho Gorge. The first stop is Mount Aso, one of the world's largest volcanoes, where you can see the active, intense white smoke and dynamic scenery. For lunch during the tour, you can enjoy local Aka beef. Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, known for being the setting of a popular manga comic, is a mysterious place that has long been preserved in unspoiled natural surroundings. The last stop is Takachiho Gorge, where you can detoxify your mind and body in the mysterious scenery created by the abundant nature. Great day at the Volcano and Gorge

Our guide Keiko and driver Mazda were both amazing and spoke fluent English and very informative and delightful. Learned a lot about Mount Aso and the caldera and enjoyed the scenery and the boat ride on the gorge which is breathtakingly stunning. Highly recommend this tour.

Best day tour we've had!

This private tour was the best day tour we've experienced! Guide Mieko was very friendly, gracious, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. Driver Ogino-san was a great driver. We enjoyed the beauty of the Mt. Aso caldera and of theTakachiho Gorge and surrounding area. The included lunch was one of the best meals that we've had in Japan and the included boat ride was a lot of fun. When we booked this tour, we thought it would be a long day, but it didn't feel like it because we had such a wonderful time with Mieko and Ogino-san! We highly recommend this private day tour.

Excellent Tour of Mt. Aso and Takachiho Gorge

Did this in a day from Fukuoka and met Ms. Mieko at the train station. The tour was worth every penny and second we spent to do it. I was actually traveling with my cousin and her husband (that option didn't exist for what type of trio this was). Both our tour guide and driver were excellent. We substituted going to Shirakawa Spring instead of the shrine. Seeing a smoking volcano crater up close is amazing and the gorge is beautiful. Being in the boat can be a little crowded with the other boats trying to squeeze by the waterfall while going against the current, but it is a unique view. Lunch was also excellent. All the meats were very tender. The beef is local to the caldera area and probably not available in very many places.

This tour was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide was so awesome and my 8 year old loved her. She made our travel time go by so fast with kanji review for my son and taught him how to make Pokémon origami. Her English was excellent and She knew all the history due to growing up in Kumamoto area. She was energetic and was so fun to be around. Mieko San was amazing and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. I can’t wait to come back and ask for her for a Kumamoto city tour.
