Overview

Nara gets very crowded during the afternoon and it could be hard to take great photos. Therefore, in our tour we go to the main sites of Nara (Kofuku-ji Temple, Todaiji Temple, Nara Park, and Kasuga Grand Shrine) before the crowd comes. ⬇︎PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY⬇︎ *Please be at the meeting spot, 10 minutes early than the scheduled time. Since we have other groups in the tour, we CANNOT accept any late guests. and will not be given a refund. * For guests that book the Kyoto Station Pickup option, the fee from Kyoto to Nara Station is included in the tour but the fee on the way back is not included. *This tour has up to 12 guests. *In this tour, we will walk about 10,000 steps. (stairs and hills included) *We will be using the train to go from Kyoto to Nara which takes around 1 hour. *Please note that the 4-hour tour duration applies only to the Kyoto Station Departure Option. For the Kintetsu Nara Station Meet-up, it is 3 hours.

Great Nara tour to beat the crowds

Nara gets busy so this early morning tour is perfect to beat the crowds, when we arrived it was deserted but by the time we left it was packed! Kota is a great guide who provided much insight into all aspects of what we visited from the 1300 wild deer who roam Nara to Todai-Ji the largest Buddhist temple in Japan. The deer can be aggressive so watch your rice snacks as they will reach into your pockets to get them. Very nice visit and will highly recommend it

Soichiro was an excellent guide! We enjoyed getting to know our small tour group and learning about the history and culture related to the temples. We would’ve missed so much if we had visited on our own. The pace was perfect.

We had a lovely time walking around Nara with Yuri. She gave us fun tid bits of information while we toured a few shrines and fed deer. The Great Buddha Hall was jaw dropping! Yuri was animated and friendly throughout the tour and was happy to answer all of our questions.

Beautiful tour and definitely best to do early bird!! Great way to spend some time before everything opens. Our tour guide, Ryoichi was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He made great conversation and very knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour to anyone, especially if you can get Ryoichi. And FEED THE DEER! It’s so fun!
