Overview

You’ll join one of our friendly hosts to journey to Osaka, a city which frankly needs no introduction. You’ll explore this spirited city’s highlights and hidden gems - it’s all going down. Traditionally home to Japan’s merchant class, you’ll find Osaka to be less traditional in its approach to food and life - the locals have a wild sense of humor and sure know how to have a good time, and how to make good food! Within 24 hours after booking, you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

  • Nipponbashi Denden Town (Pass By)

    Also known as “Denden Town,” it’s a lively district known for its many electronics shops; a paradise for otaku, with dozens of shops specializing in anime, manga, and games. Even if you’re not an otaku yourself, it’s worth spending an afternoon browsing the shops and people-watching!   • Shinsaibashi (Pass By)

    A giant (more than 600 meters!) shopping arcade where apparel shops, character goods, cafés and restaurants line the street. Just about everything a shopper would want is here.   • America-mura (Pass By)

    With its galore of cafes, galleries and shops, Amerikamura has been the centre of American-inspired youth culture in Osaka for decades. With your host by your side, you’ll get the chance to discover this maze of deviant art, indie music, and hipster fashion district where locals gather to enjoy thrift shopping.   • Namba Yasaka Shrine (Pass By)

    Located in the heart of Namba, Osaka’s lively entertainment district, the shrine is home to the area’s guardian deity and is known for its lion’s head enclosing an entrance stage. The lion’s mouth is said to gobble up evil spirits and bring good luck.   • Shinsekai (Pass By)

    This unique neighborhood was modeled after Paris and New York City, and its art deco architecture is truly a sight to behold. Shinsekai fell into disrepair following World War II. Today, it is undergoing a revival, with bars and restaurants popping up alongside its old-fashioned attractions. Once you’ve admired the architecture of the neighborhood, head up the Tsutenkaku Tower -known as the Eiffel Tower of Osaka - for some breathtaking views of the city.     Lined with garish neon-covered buildings, the Dotombori Canal is the most iconic sight in all of Osaka.

Fun and friendly guide with great photography skills

Tiana was a wonderful guide for our day trip from Kyoto to Osaka. It was our last day in Japan and we only had the afternoon/evening but she put together the perfect itinerary that gave us just the right mix of attractions, street food, and nightlife. She’s also a fantastic photographer!
