Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

Perfect place to take family or friends or just a nice date You’re in the city but feels like you traveled outside the state I got to go January 27th and it was snowing , so beautiful And they have a nice cafe and restaurant available very accommodating and friendly atmosphere

Great mountain hiking in Palm Springs area.

Super easy to get to from Rancho Mirage. Well organized parking and tram loading.(I was there as soon as they opened in the morning.) the tram ride to the top was fairly short and very scenic. However, it might be a bit disconcerting if you’re uncomfortable with heights. At the top, there’s a café. lounge viewing points, static displays and Park Rangers to help out with your visit. Once you go outside, you’re at the trailhead for a couple easy but worthwhile trails and some much longer ones that I didn’t have the time to take. It is much cooler at the top of the hill than down in the valley -approximately 30° f difference. The scenery from up there is fantastic. The forest is beautiful highly recommend this as a way to occupy a morning or a full day.

Great views at the top. We did not walk any trails due to my knee problems. Only negative is you have to pay to park on top of the fee to ride the tram. Some lots are a hike, and they have shuttles that pick you up, so I guess the parking fee pays for that....

Beautiful relaxing tram ride

Beautiful place. Nice people. Many were bringing young children to play in the snow. Very clean, well organized and friendly. Loved the tram floors that moved in a circle so that you got a panoramic view.
