Traveling by car to the fjords of Western Norway is one of the best ways to enjoy the Norwegian nature and appreciate the beauty of the fjords and waterfalls in a short period of time. The trip is designed for the whole day, leaving from Oslo early in the morning and returning late at night. During the day you will take part of Bergen Railway by train from Geilo to Myrdal, then board the world famous Flam Railway and cruise along the two branches of the longest and deepest fjords in Norway – Sognefjord. One of them, Nærøyfjord, was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2005. You will also be able to pass one of the most attractive high-altitude railways in the world – Flåm – or enjoy the impressive views at Stalheim hotel viewpoint. Oslo (Pass By)

Your private guide will pick you up by car from your hotel and you will begin your journey to the most beautiful fjord in Norway - Sognefjord. On the long car trip you will have several stops for pictures, toilet and food if needed. (4,5h approx)
Gudvangen

Arrived at Gudvange, you will be able to enjoy the scenic atmosphere of the Naraefjord - the most beautiful part of the Sognefjord and take lunch (not included) in a Viking cafe next to the Viking Village.

Awesome trip to see fjords!

Björn, our driver, was amazing! Very knowledgeable and interesting. I can see how the trip to the flam would be confusing to a tourist without a guide and this tour took all the stress out of it. It’s a long day, but the stunning views are totally worth it and the long car ride went fast with good conversation.

We had an amazing day with Janis, the tour was excellent!! Prompt pick up, he was informative and we had a good time with him. There was an issue with the train and we didn’t get to do that part, he ended up driving us to Flam to do the cruise in the fjord part which turned out to be perfect so we don’t feel like we missed anything by doing so, everything for a reason. The tour is definitely worth the money and the scenery is SPECTACULAR!!!! We would highly recommend the tour and hope that Janis is your guide!!

The trip was absolutely magnificent and I wish I could have done more! Definitely worth it and couldn’t have asked for better weather (even the rain was part of the charm)

We had a wonderful trip. Sven our tour guide was fantastic. He was conscientious, knowledgeable, personable and very professional. The overall experience was top notch and I would highly recommend it.

I was hesitant to invest the money in this private tour as I was taking my family on this Scandinavian trip and the total cost would be a few thousand dollars - BUT - it was worth it. If you're staying in Oslo this is the only tour I know of the gets you to the fjord and Flem railway and back to Oslo in one day. The tour is long with lots of driving, but you will see many amazing sites on the way. Janus our diver/tour guide was exceptional - he kept us informed and entertained. We stopped for breaks and snacks during the drive. Seeing the fjord was the highlight of our trip to Norway - you cannot go to Norway without visiting these attractions. It was like stepping into a post card picture. The Flem railway gives you a different perspective of the mountainous area around the fjord. You will see amazing waterfalls of crystal blue waters that drain from the melting snowpack. I felt like i wanted to run over and grab a drink. Although expensive - the memories for me and my family are priceless.
