  • Achilleion Museum

    The Achillion Palace can be found in the Village of Gastouri, 10 km southwest of the town of Corfu. The stunning appearance of this stately palace takes the visitor back in history to when the palace was inhabited by two great figures of European history, whose only common bond was their adoration for Corfu, Greece, and its culture, Empress Elisabeth of Austria (known as 'Sissi') and Kaiser William II of Germany. Wandering through the fabulous gardens, you will be taken on a trip through Greek mythology as you walk between the numerous statues of Greek historical and mythical figures, including the nine Muses, Greek philosophers and, of course, Achilles – the hero of the Greek mythology after whom the palace was named.

  • Kanoni

    Legend says that the Mouse Island was formed when the ship that had taken Odysseus back to Ithaca, his home port, was turned into stone by Poseidon, god of the sea, angry at being defied by the Phaeacians. It is also very frequent that you see an airplane landing and taking off from this spot, as the airport of Corfu is right next to Kanoni.

  • Paleokastritsa

    Paleokastritsa is arguably the most famous picturesque village of the island of Corfu, located 25 km northwest of Corfu Town. The word Paleokastritsa literally means old little castle, named after Angelokastro, a Byzantine castle that stands on a hill over the village. This cosmopolitan resort stretches along a coastal road around stunning bays and a picturesque harbor where the excursion boats depart for the nearby, isolated beaches. At the end of the road, right after the main harbor is the Monastery of the Virgin Mary that overlooks the village. The monastery hosts an interesting collection of post-Byzantine icons, books and other objects. There, you will discover precious icons from the 15th century.

  • Danilia

    Danilia Village is located at central Corfu, at a 10km distance from the Corfu airport and Corfu Town. Danilia Village has no permanent residents, as it’s a replica of a 1930’s traditional Corfiot village, used as a museum, filming set, wedding and private events set. The village was rebuilt in the 1970’s after an earthquake by the Boua family as an open-air museum, approaching the atmosphere of the old city of Corfu, in a colourful traditional village style. In Danilia Village you can find two squares, a church, a folklore museum, a traditional cafe, an open-air and an indoor taverna and other replicas of old shops and buildings, filled with antique items. Danilia Village is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy some time in a scenic environment away from modern reality, relax and experience learning Corfu’s history in a set that fits the period. The village is now part of the Grecotel chain, and it’s open to the public.

A beautiful day on Corfu

We really enjoyed our day with Alexandra! She was a perfect driver and took us to as many places in Corfu as she could. We saw beaches, the Monestary, beautiful views from up on the mountain top, an olive oil museum, enjoyed a nice snack at a lovely restaurant, saw churches and many islands, and ended our day in Old Corfu town. Alexandra was so fun to be with and so proud of the place that she has lived all of her life. She was knowledgeable and kind and a really good driver on the narrow and windy roads! Thank you Alexandra!

Our group absolutely loved our day with Marinos! He was so friendly and flexible. I think Corfu was everyone’s favorite stop during our journey. He took us up in the mountains for a gorgeous view, snacks and coffee, then to the monastery, a boat ride to the blue caves, and on the way back even squeezed in some shopping at an amazing olive wood shop. Honestly we wouldn’t change a thing about our day and wish we had more time to fit in some beach time. We will definitely be back to Corfu and hope Marinos is available again.

Old Perethia

I told Marinos I wanted rabbit for lunch up in the mountains he knew straight away where to take us. We went to Old Perethia and we weren’t disappointed we had to go down this goat track to get to the taverna the driver helped my wife as she is still recovering from a stroke. We loved it so much we went up there again and was given a discount by Marinos. I highly recommend to do Airport transfers as we did or half/full day tours with Marinos.
