Overview

We start our van tour from Chania at the pick up point that we have both agreed on. We then start going towards Ag. Triada the first monastery that you will be able to visit. You can spend some time there and then we continue our tour to Gouvernetou Monastery where you can also have the chance to visit and buy local products from the monks. You can even follow a path called The Bear's Path that leads you to a cave. It's quite interesting and you will be delighted by the view of the sea! Then, upon request, we can even take you to Marathi beach or Seitan Limani for a swim or eat at the local restaurants.

This is a very old monastery that you may have the chance to visit and buy local products from the monks. Close to Gouvernetou monastery you will find a path call "The Bear's path" that will lead you to a cave.

Monasteries and Beach - A great day out out

I enjoyed this tour as it was a very relaxed and interesting day. Philip, our driver, was very friendly and toured us around before taking us to the Gouverneto monastery and Agia Triada monasteries. The Gouverneto monastery is the smaller of the two but a very peaceful place to visit with a small gift shop where you can buy incense and other items produced there. The larger Agia Triada also has a museum and wine tasting area where you can buy their own wines and olive oil. The last stop was at Marathi beach which is a great family beach. Philip provided us with a umbrella and a cooler bag full of drinks so we could enjoy our time at the beach. It certainly was a great day to experience different aspects of Cretan culture.
