Itinerary

  • Wiener Riesenrad

Wiener Riesenrad (Ferris Wheel) - A ride on the Wiener Riesenrad, Vienna's landmark that can be seen from afar, is part of the fixed Vienna programme. It was built in 1896 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I's throne and was one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world at the time. Today it is the last Ferris wheel of its kind to be preserved in its original condition. Enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Vienna from a height of around 66 m and discover a landmark of the Austrian capital on a tour. With its silhouette visible from afar, the Ferris wheel is a special attraction for all visitors to Vienna. A tour of this important and at the same time fascinating building offers you unmistakable views over the entire city. It is said that if you have never ridden the Ferris wheel in your life and have never enjoyed the wonderful view over the roofs of Vienna, you have never really been in Vienna.

    30 minutes

  • Danube Tower

Danube Tower - The Danube Tower is a Viennese landmark, a technical masterpiece and shines in a stylish reinterpretation of the 1960s. Construction began in 1962 and the opening took place in 1964 on the occasion of the International Garden Show in Vienna. The express lift takes you to the viewing terrace at a height of 150 meters for an unforgettable 360° panorama from the visitor terrace or the rotating coffee house. A trip to the Danube Tower has it all: Located in one of the most beautiful and largest parks, the Danube Park, it is visible from afar and invites you to discover the tower up to its distinctive tip. Once you have arrived at the top, your gaze then wanders into the distance to the city limits and even far beyond. This change of perspective makes a visit to the Danube Tower an unforgettable experience. Learn about its history and enjoy the thrill of lofty heights. At 252 meters, it replaced St. Stephen's Cathedral as Austria's tallest building.

    30 minutes

  • Upper Belvedere Palace

Belvedere Palace - The Belvedere Palace in Vienna is a palace complex that Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt (1668–1745) had built between 1714 and 1723 for Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736). The Upper Belvedere and the Lower Belvedere (named because of their location on a slope south of what was then the city) form a baroque ensemble with the connecting gardens. The two palace buildings now house the collections of the Belvedere (Austrian Gallery Belvedere) and rooms for temporary exhibitions. On May 15, 1955, the Austrian State Treaty was signed in the Upper Belvedere. Even today you have a great view over Vienna from here. That's what the castle was called "Belvedere" - for the beautiful view. The prince had a private zoo built in the palace garden.

    30 minutes

  • Hundertwasserhaus

Hundertwasser house - The Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna bears the unmistakable signature of the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000), the colourful facade of the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna draws the eye almost magically. Trees and bushes on the balconies and roof terraces make the Hundertwasserhaus a green oasis in the middle of the city. Colorful and unusual, the home features uneven floors in the hallways and is spacious in design. Around 250 trees and bushes were planted in 1985 and have now grown into stately trees - a real park on the roofs of the house. We visit the Hundertwasser House and the neighbouring Hundertwasser Gallery with the souvenir shop, where inexpensive art prints by the visual artist and architect can also be purchased.

    30 minutes

  • Schonbrunn Palace

Schönbrunn Palace - Schönbrunn Palace (German: Schloss Schönbrunn) was the most important summer residence of the Habsburg emperors in Vienna. The name Schönbrunn ("beautiful spring") goes back to an artesian well from which the court drew water. The 1.441-room Rococo palace is one of the country's most significant architectural, cultural, and historical monuments. The history of the palace and its extensive gardens spans more than 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, interests and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs. The area of the Schönbrunn Palace Park is the same size as the entire Principality of Monaco and on its west side it houses the historic Vienna Zoo, which was founded in 1752 and is therefore the oldest zoo in the world. Voted the best zoo in Europe six times in a row, it is home to 7,780 animals from 667 species and shows technical innovations on 42 acres. Castle and zoo are among the 5 most important tourist attractions.

St. Stephen's Cathedral - The Roman Catholic cathedral, called "Steffl" for short by the Viennese, is considered a landmark and is sometimes also referred to as a national shrine. The cathedral is one of the most important Romanesque-Gothic buildings in Austria. Parts of the late Romanesque predecessor building from 1230 are still preserved. At 136.4 meters, the south tower is the tallest. In the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy, no church was allowed to be built higher than the south tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral. It is an architectural masterpiece of its time and when the tower was completed it was the tallest free-standing building in the world for over 50 years. We visit the cathedrals in-and outside, have the opportunity to take the elevator up the north tower, take a look at the old town and see the largest bell in Europe, the "Pummerin", a large bell that was installed in 1558, with a diameter of 3.16 m and a weight of 22,511 kg

    30 minutes

  • The Hofburg

The Hofburg - From the 13th century to 1918, the Hofburg zu Wien was the residence of the Habsburgs in Vienna. Since the end of 1946 it has been the official residence of the Austrian Federal President. It houses the Austrian National Library and various museums, including the Albertina art gallery. The Habsburg Empire was ruled from the Hofburg for more than seven centuries. The area that was created during this time covers an area of around 24 hectares, making it the largest building complex in Europe that was built for non-religious purposes. The complex also includes two sacred buildings: the Hofburg chapel and the Augustinian church. If you add the twin museums and the old court stables - today's Museums Quartier - to the Hofburg grounds, the total area is around 50 hectares (123,553 acres). We visit the area from the Heroes' Gate on the Ring Boulevard up to the Michaeler Gate, at the Spanish Riding School.

    15 minutes

  • Ringstrasse

We pass all the historic buildings on the Ring, such as the State Opera, the twin museums, the Hofburg, the Parliament, the City Hall, the Burgtheater and the main university and are happy to take the time for the desired photo stops and explanations. We then drive to all the other sights listed on the tour and also cross the Danube with you to visit the new part of Vienna with the UNO center. Here is the latest comment from a guest group: Highly recommended! Chris and Vlady were amazing! Our group of 12 really enjoyed our time in Vienna. In large part because Chris shared his knowledge and expertise with us in a way that resonated with my 11 friends. I would highly recommend any tour with Chris.
