Overview

Travel through the Spessart to Würzburg, the old University town at the River Main. To Weikersheim, famous for its Renaisance castle with magniffcent "Rittersaal" and it`s Baroque court garden. Along small wine villages in the Tauber valley to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany`s most romantic town. Explore the picturesque Tauber valley and Rothenburg’s medieval old town, in all its glory: the churches, the completely intact town walls, walkable for two kilometres, and the market square that people traverse on their way to the Plönlein, the Crime Museum or the tower walkway. Just beneath the viewing platform, a stork has taken up position on the roof of the town hall. It calmly observes the comings and goings below for a while, before stretching its wings and flying off to its nest on the Markustor … On the way back to Frankfurt, fotostop at the Residence in Würzburg, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This was a great trip! Our tour guide Katike was amazing and Rothenburg was stunning! Tour guide was very helpful with just the right amount of speaking. She even passed out candy on the bus and bought a dessert to share with evening. Nice added touches.

Excellent day trip. Definitely worth the price. Keiko the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It's 10 and a half hours but really flies by. We arrived in Rothenburg during a festival on 8 Sept when the locals dressed up in traditional costume etc which was an extra bonus. Bring some cash as many food outlets don't accept cards.

So glad we went on this tour! It was organized and well worth the money. We were able to see and do so much! I loved the different steps & that we had 3 hours in Rothenburg. Keiko was an amazing guide and the bus driver was outstanding as well!
