Overview

Enjoy the visit of the most beautiful medieval villages in Tuscany with us: Siena and San Gimignano. Admire the lovely and stunning views driving in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Discover the vibrant local life, the colorful pottery shops and the tallest towers of San Gimignano. In Siena will you will learn all the secrets about the famous horse race “Palio” and Campo square. A special guided Chianti wine tasting and visit of a famous wine estate will be reserved for you. Small group, more flexibility and attention for you!

Itinerary

Palazzo Pubblico e Torre Grossa

The first village you will reach is San Gimignano, with old medieval towers to view and vibrant ceramic shops to peruse. You will also have the chance to savour the best gelato of San Gimignano, on the location where the acclaimed “Tea with Mussolini” was filmed. On your free time another suggestion would be to enter and visit the little history museum of San Gimignano, which hosts the true reproduction of the XIV century tower. In between the two Medieval Villages you will visit a famous wine cellar where the winemaker will introduce you to his products. You will have a guided sampling of the unique Chianti white wine Vernaccia and the Chianti DOCG, paired with delicacies such as bruschettas with and pecorino cheese.

Piazza del Campo

After the wine sampling we will reach Siena, the wonderful medieval village built among hills. Here our expert tour leader will lead you to the center of the city, passing through the narrow medieval streets until we reach one of the most remarkable medieval squares in Europe, the Piazza del Campo, with its shell-shaped formation, characteristic of the ancient theaters. Siena has also one of the most monumental Cathedrals of Italy. During your free time you'll have a chance to visit it.

We had a fantastic day sightseeing in San Gimignano & Sienna. Our guide Valery was very knowledgeable & personable. She went out of her way to make it memorable. Great value for money & we can totally recommend this tour.

Visiting the various places was just enough time to enjoy your experience at each stop. Traffic from Siena to Montecatini was also very memorable but our driver/guide, Valeria, was an excellent guide and driver! And the wine tasting accommodated my wife gluten free sensitivity!

The views in San Gimignano are breathtaking. Our guide made the logistics seamless and did a great job talking about the history of Siena. The wine tasting was a perfect light lunch between the two cities

Fantastic day trip from Montecatini to the beautiful towns of San Gimignano and Siena. Our tour guide Valerie was so kind and very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed a trip to Palagetto vineyard where we had a delicious tasting of wines alongside salami, cheese, bruschetta and honey. my favourite part of the trip was Siena the day after the Palio and a very exciting time to visit! Highly recommended.

Wonderful tour. San Gimignano and Siena are so picturesque, not to mention the amazing Tuscan countryside. Our guide provided background on each town and then gave us sufficient time to wander on our own. Between towns we visited a winery sampling three different wines while enjoying a delicious and plentiful charcuterie. This was a “not to be missed” experience. I had been to both these towns in years past, but seeing this way was something else.
