The Bell Tower, located on the banks of the Swan River in vibrant Barrack Square, is one of the largest musical instruments on earth and was built to house the bells of Saint Martin in the Fields church, in Trafalgar Square, London. During the interactive Bell Tower Experience Tour, you can try the art of bell ringing yourself with an experienced tour guide. Learn about the history of the Bell Tower and the historic royal bells. Marvel at the Swan River views from the Observation Deck and while there play a tune on the coin operated Carillon.

The Bell Tower

Currently open Thursday - Sunday from 10am, this outstanding landmark links the Perth City to the River. Entry into the Tower provides access to all five public areas. Discover the wonders the Bell Tower during one of the unique tours which includes the opportunity to chime the 300 year old bells that were once housed in the St. Martin-in-the-fields Church, London, UK. See the 6,500kg ANZAC Bell from the level 5 viewing platform and watch it ring at 12pm. Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views encompassing the Swan River, City of Perth and the Darling Range from the Level 6 Observation Deck. This deck also boasts a 26 bell Carillon that plays several well-known tunes & national anthems for a mere gold coin. It is the first of its kind in the world. The Bell Tower is one of the most unique tourist attractions in Perth and is one giant musical instrument of considerable historical and cultural significance.

Our guide Howard made this tour so interesting with his funny sense of humour. We got our certificate at the end but I would have liked a bit more time practising my bell ringing.

Very interesting, our guide Howard was great, very knowledgeable with a dry sense of humour. Would have liked a little more time practising our bell ringing, but great to see everything up close. We now have certificates to prove we attended and saw the Swan Bells. The musical Carillon on the Observation Deck was an added bonus.

great experience. (make sure your purchase the ticket tour which enables you to ring the bells) I took my grandchildren aged 3, 7 and 9. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning about the bells and also more importantly having the opportunity to ring the bells. Even the three year old understood and loved it. They even enjoyed looking at all the types of bells including the platform with the jute box opportunity for the bells to play a song. For me it was informative and I loved seeing the children excited about ringing the bells and then they wanted to wait until twelve o'clock for the Anzac bell to ring. We purchased a lock heart and had the our names engraved and the year, which will provide a long lasting treasured memory of my grandchildren and their nana visiting the bells in 2025 for years to come. They chose the place to hang the love heart lock and said they would remember and find it every time they visited in the future. I felt it was money well spent for the treasured memory of a visit with their nana.
