  • York Town Hall

    Situated in the Avon Valley, York is one of Western Australia’s most picturesque towns with charming architecture. This town was the first inland European settlement in Western Australia, founded back in 1831. Be sure to take a short stroll along the main town strip and see many of the old buildings which are still in use today.

  • Wildflower Shoppe

    If time permits wander through the wildlife park where you can enjoy time seeing kangaroos, emus, wallabies, wombats, koalas, lizards and a wide range of birds. Alternatively view the antique lace collection, dating back to the 1600’s. These hand and machine made lace products are housed in beautiful hand crafted cabinets.

WA State is famous for unique wildflowers

Western Australia is a State which is famous for its wildflowers, which amount for over 12,000 species -- some 60 percent of them are to be found nowhere else on the planet. If you want, you can take a tour to Wave Rock and York which are part of Western Australia's Wheatbelt in the south-west of the State. You can inspect Wave Rock, which is quite fascinating. The unique kangaroo paws flowers are wild, and marvelous to see. Taking a cultural day tour day related to the Aboriginals is informative and enjoyable. You can enjoy inspecting the Wildflower State tour of Australia's largest area.

It was a very long day. York was a besutigul old victorian town, the caves weren‘t impressive, however the wave rock was beautiful. Our driver/guide Luke was terrific! On our way he told us a lot about the Aboriginal culture, agriculture, history, landscape, guiness book stories etc. He was very kind and one can tell, he loves his job.

Take your camera. Hard to take a bad shot. Long drive but worth it. Driver did a great job explaining the history of WA and wave rock.
