Overview

The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of Florence. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

    Our food tour offers an overview of the many tasty specialities of the city, moving from selected cured meats and cheeses to different types of pasta, strictly kneaded by hand.

    We start with the typical Florencian aperitivo tasting cured meats and local cheeses from Tuscany.

  • Palazzo Medici Riccardi (Pass By)

    After that, the first dish will be the traditional Potatoes tortelli or the tasty pici. Strictly kneaded by hand in a top-ranking trattoria of Firenze. A must-try!

  • Piazza Santa Trinita (Pass By)

    You cannot leave Florence without having tried the traditional "Pappa al pomodoro" and the "Ribollita". Both dishes from the farmers’ tradition, wisely prepared in the same way for generations, in one of the most typical and lively trattorias of Florence.

Great lens through which to view a city

What a great way to get an inside glimpse of the city. Gennaro was the best guide, we enjoyed our afternoon chatting and he had wonderful insight into Florence. The food we experienced was all local, unique, and very tasty. I highly recommend the experience.

I would like to thank our amazing guide Angela. We are Irish; Italians and Irish have so much in common is the best way I can start this review. Angela was one of the best guides we have had after travelling the world. Everyone knows your host makes your day. We were brought to the back streets and off tourist places. We all know it’s the clients on the tour that give the energy to the tour. If you want to have fun you will. Not only did we get a guided tour of the city we also learned some Italian, history and customs. You make the tour as exciting as you wish with the questions you ask.
