Overview

Join us on a walk through the picturesque streets of Athens' old city "Plaka" and visit 3 unique local wine bars, each with its own history and personal style. We do not just try wine, we are informed about each variety, the ways it is made. We try 6 different varieties of Greek wine all of them grown and produced in Greece by local vintners, each of them chosen for its distinct taste and origin. What will you taste: 6 glasses (75ml) of wine p.p. Meze (Greek appetizers) served at each wine bar (rusks or salty sticks, cheese, olives, tomato). Reserved table on all venues An experienced, educated & friendly facilitator will be accompanying you to assist you with anything you might need!

    We visit a couple of unique wine bars in Plaka, the old town of Athens!

    We visit a wine bar in the slopes of Acropolis where "Anafiotika" neighborhood is located. We enjoy a glass of wine in an area full of beautiful little houses decorated with bougainvillea flowers and built in the 19th century!

Our tour was amazing because of our tour guide! It was the perfect way to see the city. Our guide (Telis) was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcomed. I highly recommend doing the tour on your visit to Athens.

George was a super fun guide and my friends and I had an amazing time! The wine pours are definitely just samples (3-4 sips as opposed to 4-5 oz) and not full glasses of wine but I still feel like this tour was worth it.

Our guide, Elena, was a pure delight. My husband and I were lucky enough to have a private tour with her. She was articulate, informative and funny. In addition to tasting and learning about wine and the local Greek cheese, she shared information about Greek culture. The tastings were held at three different wine bars and the gentlemen who led the wine tastings were very informative. I highly recommend this tour.
