Overview

A New Listing for an experienced company and crew. Snorkel Big Island has been operating Manta Ray Snorkel Excursions for over 12 years. Attention to detail, safety, and our expert crew, set this excursion apart. During this tour we can visit either the northern manta site near the Kona airport, or venture further south to Keauhou depending on where the best manta sightings have been. Our licensed captains and dedicated guides pull out all the stops to make sure you get the best viewing possible. Prior swimming & snorkeling experience is required to book this activity. Guest's must be able to independently climb up a side boat ladder. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Not recommended for pregnant women. Contact tour operator for exceptions. This family run business takes pride in sharing the importance of taking care or our land, ocean, animals, and each other. Please arrive on time for the start of your scheduled tour.

Itinerary

Check In for your Manta Ray Snorkeling Experience on the North side of Honokohau Small Boat Harbor. Our Welcoming Check-in attendant will fit you with a shorty wetsuit (included) to ensure the utmost comfortability during your snorkel experience. Hop aboard our spacious, safe and comfortable USCG documented vessel for a 15-20 minute ride as our licensed and certified captains and guides narrate the views of the coastline. Upon arrival at the snorkel site the crew will ensure your safety as you enter the water to snorkel up close and personal with Konas famous Manta Rays. In water guides will tell you interesting facts about the rays and wildlife that surround you. All guests will hold on to our floating, custom light board, equipped with the most up to date, powerful, underwater lights. Giving our guests an advantage over other operators and ensuring you experience a wildlife encounter you will never forget. Wetsuit, Snorkel Gear and personal attention is given to every guest as well as additional floatation and assistance for those request it.

  • Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Snorkel Big Island cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night for a rebooking fee. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.
  • Please confirm your check in time directly with tour provider. Check in time may be up to 40 minutes prior to tour time.
  • Basic swimming skills are required
  • Previous snorkeling experience is required

Great crew and experience

No Manta Rays at location so crew took us for a long boat ride to southern location. We saw many giant Manta rays. Crew could have easily said they are sorry but there are none tonight. They didn't and we had a wonderful trip. Definitely a thumbs up.

We had a great time. The mana rays were beautiful ,graceful and swam right up next to us. They provided wet suits which helped with the cold water. The crew were friendly, helpful and the boat was nice. I highly recommend Snorkel Big Island!

A surreal experience swimming with these incredible creatures. Felt very safe. Clear instructions and good sized boat made us feel very comfortable. Keep your wet suit on or gets a little chilly

Highly recommend this! The tour guides were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel safe at all times. We got to see around 10 manta rays and it was an awesome experience.

This trip is a must do on Big Island! We selected the 8:30 trip and ended up being the last boat in the area which meant we had 4 Manta rays visiting us and putting on a show which was incredible. The team were professional and fantastic throughout. It’s a smaller group trip than some others which was also a bonus:
