Overview

Boring of only grammar classes? Learning by doing is our motto! We use functional methods combining grammar and experiential classes where we apply what we've just learned to a specific situation, such as: Restaurant, Market, Soda or just a walk on the beach we will provide you tools and proper vocabulary you can use in each activity. We also support local so in each situation you will meet and support locals too!

We are located right next to the entrance of Moctezuma´s Waterfall, inside "Hotel La Cascada", Montezuma, Costa Rica.

We will learn Spanish through functional modalities where the participant can apply what just learned to a specific situation such as: Market Experience, Restaurant, Shop or just introducing to the locals. We support locals!

Don’t consider, just do it!

I had two weeks of spanish lessons with Andy, and it was by far the two best weeks I had on my trip to Costa Rica. Andy is very welcoming, patient, fun, serious (in a good way) and great! The lessons were never boring, and even though you had had a long day before, Andy still made the lessons fun and interesting. He was also so sweet to recommend, show and involve me in what happened in Montezuma during the time I was there. I can’t recommend spanish lessons with Tico Spanish enough!

Brilliant way to share local customs and teach Spanish

Our family greatly enjoyed our immersive language experience with Andy. He arranged for us to go into a local family's home and prepare breakfast with them. The family graciously showed us the plants that they grow in their garden and greenhouse for cooking and health uses. They did not speak any English, so it forced us to practice using our Spanish. And, Andy did a great job of facilitating the experience. Andy's approach to teaching Spanish, providing visitors with authentic local interactions, and giving back to his community is so smart and commendable!

Spanish lesson

We, my wife and I, had 6 lessons with Andy during our stay in Montezuma: The best language course I‘ve ever had! Due to an excellent choice of basic grammar and all day speaking I‘m now able to take part in all day conversation with local people. Last but not least we had a lot of fun with him - 100% recommendation!

The perfect mix

We definitely recommend the Spanish lesson. The mix of basic Spanish at first and the usage in the restaurant afterwards was perfect. Andy creates with his authentic manner a good vibe to learn very easily the language and to understand the culture. An addition to the learning experience Andy wants to support the locals that's why we ate at a restaurant which runs by ticos means Andy also support the local community. @Andy: Muchas gracias.
