We will meet at the Hypocenter, this is also the location of Shima Hospital. It is a 5 story building with a grey and light purple stripes. From the street you will be able to see a plaque with the picture of the location after the bomb.

    The peace park is a rather large area encompasing many monuments and land features such as the Peace Bell, T-shaped bridge, A-bomb Dome, childrends monument, Fountain of prayer, Tree which survived A-bomb, a Museum, Flame of peace, cenotaph, pond of peace, Korean Victims monument All of which are well lit and photogenic during evening and night.

Worth doing for humanity sake

It was lovely to walk around the sobering sights during a quieter time of the day without all the people. Joshua gave us some interesting facts which we would not have known if we hadn’t done the tour. Lots of little things we could have missed. Very enjoyable.

Intimate, enlighting very personal tour

Josh was a great guide, he carefully and thoughtfully walked us through the history of the park. He answered every question we had, including my very curious 8 year olds questions. This is a bargain tour for all cruise ship customers. Much better than the ship excursions, you can easily make your own way to the peace park via Hiroshima Castle, then the museum before meeting Josh for the tour.

I had a wonderful time on Josh's tour. He know his history well and includes many little tidbits you don't find in history books. His ability to read kanji also added extra depth to the content. Beyond all that Josh is a great guy. He keeps things fun and interesting and was able to adapt well to my requests. I had so much more fun doing this with him as my guide than I would have had going alone. His insight at the pinnacle of the tour was particularly moving. Can't recommend highly enough!
