We had originally booked a trip to Chichen Itza, but for some reason, we ended up missing that bus.We were offered the Coba Pyramid Sunset tour instead.
We were kindly greeted by Señor Jorge Moo and the driver, Martin. Jorge was very knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and even gave us a crash course enroute to the pyramid. Once we arrived at the starting point, we hopped onto some rented bicycles and rode about 2 km to the pyramid.
Once we arrived to the pyramid, We were fine to climb to the top if we wanted, I believe everyone from the group decided to not participate, except for Barbara(very BRAVE lady) Very interesting place indeed.
We then went back to the restaurant and got ready for the zip lining. It was scary for me, but I was so glad afterwards, that I powered through and did it.
After ziplining, we drove for about 10 minutes to the underground cenote. Pretty beautiful place to see.
We went back to the restaurant for our delicious buffet dinner. There were some teens and children that put on a cultural dance for us while we ate. It was quite moving to me.
After dinner, Martin drove us back to our resort safely and securely. I felt very comfortable with his driving skills.
In the end, this trip to Coba was amazing! No regrets at not seeing Chichen-Itza this time. This trip was the absolute highlight of our week in Cancun. I will never, ever forget this amazing experience.
Thank you :)
